Holy crap you guys.

I'm in culinary school and this quarter I have a final project that requires me to come up with two simple cocktails for each main type of spirit (Rum, Whiskey/Whisky/Bourbon, Tequila, Vodka and Gin).

DONE. :D

Also, I found this page:

Let me go dig in my old hardcopy to find the site I pulled it from but I have the entire BT mixer list somewhere.  Mech coolant wasn't great but not to bad either.

I thought the ERPPC had club soda or similar fizzy element to "extend" it, with the Clan version having double the grain alcohol...

Not meaning to threadjack, but do any of you know of any other earth-producable foods or drinks in Battletech? I don't drink (I just turned 21 a few months ago, anyway), but I'm curious to see if there are any other things which are out there to try.

Apologies for a halfway necropost, but a random video upon the net brought memories up of the drink in question and where I had read the recipe in the books.

So technically the true recipe for a PPC comes from the book En Garde when Gray Noton is explaining them to a person known as The Contessa just before Justin Allard's first match on Solaris. In short it is 4+2 per the book's description of the drink.

Aaaaahhhh, thank you. Brings back some memories.... or maybe hallucinations.

IIRC, the trick to the 'canon' PPC was to have the everclear as cold as you can possibly get it ( anyone remember CO2 fire extinguishers?  :D ) so as to minimize the burn. Until it went down, that is. Make yer eyes glow blue when it lights up.....

We used to use Gator--- green for mech coolant...

I tried to make a Star Adder shot by floating that Hyponitk stuff (my wife bought it) over dark rum.  It actually worked, well it was Star Adder colors, but it was awful.

I figured I was better off to just drink bourbon

I ordered a Gauss Rifle once. Gave the bartender the recipe, only thing missing was the metal BBs. Damn good!

I'm going to go ahead and say probably vodka or a gin would be better.  The last time I drank that much grain alcohol I woke up at the aftermath of a house party in panama city, and was supposed to be at fort benning. 

which by the way 4 shots of gin, with bourbon, over ice is not to bad.

That sounds like a really good description of what a PPC apparently does, actually.

Add some strong ginger beer, lime juice and a couple shots of bitters and you have a large version of the cocktail "Suffering Bastard."  (Originally Suffering Bar Steward, but you can see how it evolved...)
