BoT New Clan Formation Types

The Clan formations added in Battle of Tukayyid (p. 27) all refer specifically to Elementals in place of Battle Armor. Can any Battle Armor substitute Elemental Battle Armor in other scenarios, or must these formations specifically include Elemental Battle Armor?
