An early battle armor design developed by Schwarze-Ritter Metalwerks, the Komet Mk.1 is a medium-class Battle Armor noted primarily for it's maneuverability. Surpassed in most regards by later designs, the Komet became relegated to service with mercenary units and occasionally planetary militias.

Medium suits can't use partial wings, only lights and PA(L)/Exos.
Even if they could, you'd be better using a Jump Booster, which only masses 125kg on a medium. By switching to a Jump Booster, you'd have 75kg unallocated, with all sorts of possibilities then available, such as increasing the ground MP to 3 and adding a Light TAG, or adding a point of armor, or adding a Firedrake or LMG.

That restriction doesn't exist anymore (or if it does I can't find it in tech manual).
-
As for the suit itself, it seems suboptimal (mostly because of the fairly light armor, and the partial wing over the jump booster), but on the other hand that kinda seems the point. As such, good suit.
-
Yeah, it was intended as an obsolete design relegated to use by mercenaries. Kind of an early battle armor design during the rush for everyone to build them. Fairly maneuverable but not exactly cutting edge, hence it's fall from front-line usage.
Playing it, it was indeed pretty nimble, and the MagShot works as an "every round shooter" better than a one-shot SRM-2, IMHO. But it doesn't hold up to incoming fire very well. But then the major point of this design was the use of the partial-wing to improve maneuverability. Wouldn't mind seeing an improved version incorporating that wing though.
It's based on the pic below a friend sent me:

TM p266:
"Battle Armor Unit Restrictions: Battlesuits must have Jumping MP in order to install a partial wing. Partial wings may only be installed on humanoid-style light suits or PA(L)/exoskeletons."
-
Huh. So it does. I wish they'd put that in the actual design rules section where they discuss adding the partial wing...
-
Agreed. It's a pain in the butt having to scour every page of every book to get clarification on a thing. Unless you're a dedicated rules lawyer that can be a nuisance.

Here's a reconciled version corrected to fit the rules.

Glad you liked the art we commissioned for our fan TRO.

ROFLMAO - I do indeed, though I didn't know it at the time of this posting ;) . A while back my friend sent me a bunch of "Battle Armor" and "Battlemech" pics she'd scoured from the 'net, and THIS one was among them.
Is there a link available to this? I'd love to see what you've worked up here!

My sig banner is a link to our blog. This post (http://"http://builtforwar.blogspot.com.au/2016/04/built-for-war-battletech-tro-by-fans_16.html") has a thorough outline of the project.

A quick FYI - Your outline link isn't working :(

It had extra garbage in the link. Try this,

Odd - it appears that in going from preview post to actually posting, it adds some characters to the link. Anyways, Sharpnel linked it (thanks Sharpnel). Hope you like the look of things.
