A Phoenix-Hawk, going back to it roots.
« on: 22 March 2013, 22:10:53 »
Just a rebuilt phoenix-Hawk.   The orginal design of the phoenix-hawk was intended to lead, and act as a heavy scout mech.  Slow compared to it contemporaries the PHX-1Rb retains the original Speed and jump distance.  Dropping a machine gun, and half ton off ammo, switching the internal frame to endo steel, and replacing the old Durallex Light with improved Duralex ferro fibrous armor.  Allows this Model of P hawk to Carry more armor, a Beagle active probe, and a TAG system.  This Particular phoenix hawk came about after encounters with capellan Ravens.  Not wanting to start from scratch Achernar Battlemechs redesigned the Phoenix hawk to provide a better scout/ striker platform.  The Lack of a expensive Xl engine make this model popular with many mercenary commands looking for heavy scout platform.

It's nice and straightforward. A small pulse laser can replace the lone MG or even a Flamer for added versatility. With the SPL you have 0 waste heat, even with an alpha strike.

That also makes CASE unnecessary.

Second the SPL. I'd use the saved half-ton for an A-pod when you stumble upon some hidden infantry at range 0, and consider switching the MLs to a single MPL as well (better against enemy scouts when you both move a lot).
