Negative quirk: Poor Cooling Jacket
« on: 24 January 2016, 21:36:18 »
This was something I was thinking about based on some of the units in classic scenario packs. The one that comes to mind is Davis McCall's Rifleman.

Quote
This 'mech has a primary weapon with a poor cooling jacket. Before the to-hit roll, roll 2D6. On a 10 or 11, the unit generates 1 extra point of overheat without any extra damage. On a roll of a 12 the weapon fails to fire; the extra heat is generated and 1 point of damage is subtracted from the total damage output of the 'mech.

Just an idea.

Suprised there is no response....

I think it's good.  I would make the rolls on the low end... 4 or lower.  I know it's the same thing but it's just a asthetic preference.
