Title: ISP3:IE - Faslane Class YardShips
Post by: BrokenMnemonic on 01 April 2013, 05:55:46
In response to a question on ComStar ships back in 2011, Øystein indicated that all six ComStar Faslanes had been destroyed (http://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php/topic,12222.0.html), but the Faslane entry in Interstellar Expeditions indicates that "the remaining three ships eventually merged into the naval forces for the Republic of the Sphere". Is this a case of new trumping old, with IE3 superceding Øystein's comment, or did IE get their detail on the Faslane wrong?

If this is a case of new trumping old, is it reasonable to assume that the three vessels indicated as having survived until 3076 (according to Masters & Minions) - the Dover, Glamorgan and Plymouth - are the three that are in service with the ROTS navy? I ask because IE says that "most" of the Faslane fleet was destroyed, but that three survived, whereas earlier sources indicate only 6 were ever built, which could indicate that Interstellar Expeditions is tacitly suggesting there were more than 6 through the use of the word "most"... although I could be over-thinking things there.

IE3 does indeed supersede that comment, so those Faslanes are indeed in the service of the ROTS Navy. Only 6 was built.

With regards,
Øystein
