I've found a lot of used scenario books at my book store in the last few weeks and they insipired me.  This is a work in progress (and kind of a reboot of my old post) so bear with me.  I have changed this a few times...  I want to make the 'Mech part of the unit Introductory Box Set friendly.

Full unit history, roster, TRO, etc.

*** History ***

Litany Against Fear is a Mercenary/Rebel Unit founded in 3034 by Issac Van Houten right after the founding of the Free Rasalhague Republic.  They feel the formation of the Free Rasalhague Republic was a plot to create a border between two enemies rather than giving their people independence.  Fueled by their taste for revenge, they rise against the Successor States who assimilate people and establish authority.

The unit’s roots date back to 2330 when they were known as The 66th, a military unit of the Principality of Rasalhague.  The 66th fought border disputes against the Draconis Combine.  These disputes eventually turned into a war for control of the Principality as the Combine invaded.  The 66th fought hard, but unfortunately for them, the Combine was successful.  Without hesitation, the Scandinavian culture of the Principality clashed with the Japanese culture of the Combine, mostly due to assimilation.  The 66th, who had no interest in serving the Combine, were immediately labeled as terrorists by the Combine.  The 66th only targeted Combine military forces, structures, and government officials, in an attempt to save their people from Combine rule.  Because of this, the Combine assumed that the 66th was behind the assassination of Hohiro Kurita.  This almost destroyed the unit until other rebels started to join in the fight.  Ironically enough, rebels that joined the unit started to replace the unit's Scandinavian roots.

In 3004 the Lyran Commonwealth entered the picture with an ultimatum.  The principality greeted them as liberators, and after a well-bargained agreement, the 66th decided to fight alongside them.  The Lyrans gave the 66th exclusive salvage rights and repaired and maintained all of their equipment in exchange for cooperation, which would guarantee almost all rebel cooperation.  In 3030 the war ended, with the Principality victorious, but the 66th doubted the motive of their allies.  They learned that the Lyrans had planned to assimilate the principality, rather than liberate them.  Also, because of the deal, the image of the 66th was tarnished.  It looked as though the 66th had welcomed Lyran interference to make money and help establish the new Free Rasalhague Republic.  In 3034, around the beginning of the Ronin Wars, most of the 66th's rebels exiled and became a rogue Mercenary unit under the name of “Litany Against Fear.”  The rest, some of the more loyal rebels and all with Scandinavian heritage, stayed among the Free Rasalhauge Republic.

Those who still believed in Litany paid them to fight against the Lyran Commonwealth, the Draconis Combine, and even their former allies who now serve the Republic.  Throughout the Ronin Wars, Litany accepted contracts from rebels in border conflicts on their own strict terms.  This gave them first pick on all equipment salvaged and allowed them to rebuild their unit. Now, they operate on the Free Rasalhauge Republic border assisting rebels and raiding for supplies.

*** Who they are ***

Some call them the “Former 66th.”  Others call them a pirate band or terrorist organization.  The people they fight for call them freedom fighters.  Litany Against Fear stands up to the hypocritical governments of the Inner Sphere.  However, they do it for a price.  As sell swords for rebel units, they fight those who profit from the Successor States, fight against the Successor States who oppress their own people, establish and maintain “black markets” for rebels.  They also operate like a pirate band in order to retrieve supplies and survive.

*** Personalities ***

PILOT:     Major Issac “Litany” Van Houten
BATTLEMECH:   ASN-21 Assassin “The Archetype”
SKILLS:   Piloting 3, Gunnery 4 (Alpha Strike Skill 3)
ABILITIES:  Maneuvering Ace, Melee Specialist
BATTLEMECH STATUS REPORT:

“The Archetype” bears scars from constant battle but it is in good working order.  The SRM-2 ammunition feed issue has been fixed and the laser has be upgraded to the much more reliable, and accurate, Aberdovey Mk III Medium Laser.  The cockpit is also not as cramped as the regular model because the ejection system had to be overhauled.  Because of how worn it is, "The Archetype" can be very difficult to repair.  Most of its battle damage is covered with spikes which are intended to intimidate enemies.

BATTLEMECH TRAITS:  Accurate Weapon (Medium Laser), Distracting, Difficult to Maintain, Difficult Ejection

MECHWARRIOR DATA:

Issac Van Houten is the leader of Litany Against Fear.  He is also the son of Katrina and Vladimir Van Houten who fought for the 66th before exile.  Issac learned everything about being a MechWarrior and commander from them.  He also inherited his father’s BattleMech.  “The Archetype” is a standard ASN-21 Assassin whose legacy has become the mascot of the unit.  “The Archetype” has managed to survive for years while suffering battle damage and wear and tear from constant use.  Vlad Van Houten was known for his uncanny ability to maneuver and for his aggressive physical combat skills.  Issac is known for doing the same, being trained by his father, but is also known for his leadership abilities learned from his mother.  Issac carries on the legacy of his father and mother who both retired before the Ronin Wars.  Litany respects him, though his parents don't agree with his life choices.

PILOTS:     Kavellrists Olga and Katerina Polczyk
BATTLEMECH:   PNT-9R Panther (Both)
SKILLS:   Piloting 5, Gunnery 3 (Alpha Strike Skill 3)
ABILITIES:  Blood Stalker
BATTLEMECH STATUS REPORT:

The twins (two PNT-9R Panthers) are both in decent working condition.  Both are decorated with spikes which cover battle damage and intimidate enemies.  Their PPC's are upgraded to the much more reliable Anderson Armaments brand.  Olga's Panther suffered damage to both of its legs from a "death from above" attack that blew out two jump lets.  As a result, two new jets were installed in the right and left torso, but the empty space left from the old jets in each leg are unable to be repaired.  Katerina's Panther is in much better condition but bears many scars from combat.  The left arm suffered heavy internal damage leaving 1 point unrepairable.  The damage is covered with spikes but the actuators are weak and exposed.

BATTLEMECH TRAITS:  Difficult to Maintain, Distracting, (Olga:  Weak Legs, Accurate Weapon: PPC), (Katerina:  Exposed Actuators, Accurate Weapon: PPC)

MECHWARRIOR DATA:

Kavellrists Olga and Katerina Polczyk are identical twins known for working together with unsurpassed precision.  Warriors who combat them feel like they are fighting a Thug BattleMech, which in reality, they are facing two standard issue PNT-9R Panthers stolen from the Draconis Combine.  They are part of the Command Lance and work as Issac's bodyguards.  They take their work seriously and have earned the nickname “The Evil Twins.”  Working together, they are considered as a single entity, and they will aggressively pursue their target until it is destroyed.  They can be just as dangerous when separated.

PILOT:     Kavellrist Kal Gastopiv
BATTLEMECH:   BNC-3E Banshee
SKILLS:   Piloting 4, Gunnery 3 (Alpha Strike Skill 3)
ABILITIES:  Combat Intuition
BATTLEMECH STATUS REPORT:

Kal’s Banshee has a few structural issues that prevents the right torso and center torso from having full armor.  Each location loses 2 points of external armor.  The Autocannon has also been replaced with a Deleon 5 model and it has become much more accurate.  The Banshee's cockpit was repaired at one point, but Kal's recklessness has once again made the BattleMech's life support system faulty.

BATTLEMECH TRAITS:  Accurate Weapon (Autocannon/5), Difficult to Maintain, Distracting, Poor Life Support

MECHWARRIOR DATA:

Kavellrist Kal Gastopiv is an avid heavy 'Mech pilot from the Free Rasalhauge Republic who recently joined Litany Against Fear.  He has above average skills that rival most of the Inner Sphere warriors who face him.  Kal is known for pressing an attack, taking advantage of damaged units, and will sometimes be the first to strike the most powerful unit on the battlefield depending on his mood.  He takes a lot of risks, rivaling the recklessness of Issac.  Recently, Kal was upgraded to a BNC-3E Banshee Litany managed to salvage.  His battlefield aggression has increased because of the new assault class 'Mech he pilots.

PILOT:     Lieutenant Rebecca Van Biezen
BATTLEMECH:   CPLT-C1 Catapult
SKILLS:   Piloting 4, Gunnery 3 (Alpha Strike Skill 3)
ABILITIES:  Range Master (Medium)
BATTLEMECH STATUS REPORT:

Rebecca’s Catapult has 2 internal structure damage to its right arm that cannot be repaired.  A lot of the external damage is covered in spikes to intimidate the enemy.  Otherwise, the BattleMech is in great condition compared to others in the unit.

BATTLEMECH TRAITS:  Distracting, Difficult to Maintain

MECHWARRIOR DATA:

Lieutenant Rebecca Van Biezen is an aggressive heavy 'Mech pilot with a bad reputation.  She has a patch over her left eye and has recently earned the callsign “Dead-eye.”  While such a callsign can be offensive to some, to Rebecca, it shows her dedication to serve Litany despite her handicap.  She earned the wound in battle after a nasty fall in her CPLT-C1 Catapult.  Issac believes that Rebecca's real name is Rebecca Unther but there is no proof, just suspicion based on how similar they are.  If true, this would make her the long lost daughter of Sergent Unther, also called “Dead-eye,” who is currently in service with Hanson's Roughriders.  Rebecca is a close friend of Issac's and will often fight with the command lance.  She is a respectable commander in most scenarios and her blunt personality will often frighten the recruits who serve under her.

*** Dress, Awards and Decorration ***

Warriors dress in comfortable weather-appropriate fatigues that look a lot like the FRR style.  There is no official uniform but they proudly wear the colors of the unit, black and white, with decorations representing rank.  Kavellrists wear a silver star, Lieutenants wear a silver star with a sword behind it, Korprals wear a silver star with two swords behind it, and Kaptens wear the same stars as Korprals with a silver bar below it.  The Major, who has the highest authority, uses the same silver star as a Korpral with a second bar on top of it.  In order to show their allegiance to Litany each member is required to bear a "double F" tattoo (the symbol behind the Assassin in their insignia).  A member may doctor up the pattern as they see fit but it must resemble the symbol of the unit.

*** Tactics and Camouflage ***

The unit is quite unpredictable in combat but there is a trend among unit selection.  Most of the time they focus on guerrilla style fighting, hitting their enemy where it hurts, and then retreating to repair and reload so they can do it again or finish their foe.  Otherwise they specialize on ambushing their enemy in both day and night combat.  They fight dirty and show no mercy to their enemies.  They do not have a lot of BattleMechs and will utilize cheap vehicles, specifically Scorpion Light Tanks, Harasser Missile Platforms, anything manufactured by Quikscell Company, in their place.  When they can they use salvaged (poorly equipped/repaired) BattleMechs to round out their forces.  UrbanMechs are also utilized.

Typically they don’t have infantry in their unit but they will often supply rioters and other rebels with a variety of weapons (usually Imperator brand auto-rifles and submachine guns, sniper rifles, various grenades, and even LAWs in some occasions) and vehicles in order to gain support.  They are transported with improvised vehicles and sometimes APC's if they have support from the local militia.  Rioters who prove their loyalty are often issued cheap vehicles, and sometimes BattleMechs, so they can fight with Litany Against Fear.

Litany appears to be a company-sized unit roster, but depending on the situation, the unit can appear larger.  Each lance in Litany is trained to operate independently.  This allows Litany to split off into groups and survive without high command.  A lance understands how to tap into various types of underground movements (like crime syndicates, terrorist organizations, rebel militaries, etc), acquire materials, supply rebels, train them, and then use them as if they were part of Litany.  It is a trait that has saved the unit from destruction numerous times.

Two aerotech fighters are available but they will rarely use them while supporting ground targets.  However, they are known to use numerous types of bombs to soften up enemies or destroy supply lines.  The fighters spend their time defending their Union dropship in a pinch.  Litany will use conventional fighters instead, which are cheap, easy to maintain, and are not as risky to use.

Litany Against Fear has a distinct paint scheme designed to strike fear into their enemies.  They paint their units a dark gunmetal (almost black) complimented with ghost white highlights and blood red wound patterns.  Spikes are added to BattleMechs, usually to cover damage, and are used to intimidate enemies.  Their insignia is placed on the shoulder or front of a BattleMech and anywhere visible on other machines.  The scheme is usually reserved for official members of the unit but it has been used on rebel units to confuse their enemies.

What about their mechs. ::) ;)

I refer to their 'Mechs as "the twins" as well.  Guess it does sound kind of funny.

I'm getting into Alpha Strike + Strike Force.  This is the card for Isaac.

Also, FYI, I made a house rule to allow multiclass characters.  Only 2 classes.  This allows a character to have 2 abilities (1 per class chosen) and one Command ability.  Any 2 abilities can go together as long as the points do not exceed 200 (so multiclass characters basically give up the Level 1 ability).

For example.  If I choose the Piloting and Combat tree, I can have one skill from each tree as long as the points do not exceed 200.  So two Level 3 abilities, 1 level 4 ability and 1 level 2 ability, etc. are legal.  A level 2 and level 1 selection would be illegal.

Just a few minor fluff points/questions.
-I have heard of the Principality of Rasalhague but not the Rasalhague Consortium.  Was it some kind of sub-district or a corporation within the Principality?
-With Lyran Alliance you mean Lyran Commonwealth right?  The Lyran Alliance was the short-lived incarnation of the Lyran Commonwealth, founded in 3057 by Katherine Steiner-Davion, and lasted until Adam Steiner restored the Lyran Commonwealth name.
-Katrina Steiner's long-term goals was to eventually assimilate the FRR worlds into the Lyran Commonwealth not to create a buffer state.  Your unit would probably find that even worse viewing the Lyrans as no different than the Combine.
-Your unit history is a bit confusing. Sometimes it isn't clear when you are talking about the resistance group (that dates back to the Principality of Rasalhague) and when your are talking about the mercenary group (founded in 3034).  For example, you state that the image of the 66th was tarnished during the 4SW but the mercenary group wasn't founded until AFTER the 4SW or that the founder's parents were "originals of the 66th".
-Finally, for a Rasalhague unit I am noticing a distinct absence of Rasalhagian names.
Detect evil first, smite second and ask questions later.

Yeah, I guess I got some work to do with the fluff...   :(  I didn't realize how confusing it was.  I was too focused on making a company.

EDIT:  I cleaned up the history...  at least enough until I really get into writing a lot more.

Sorry to "resurrect" but I really don't want to start another thread...

PILOT:     Kavellrist Cora Vale
BATTLEMECH:   QKD-4G Quickdraw
SKILLS:   Piloting 5, Gunnery 4 (Alpha Strike Skill 4)
ABILITIES:  None
BATTLEMECH STATUS REPORT:

Cora's Quickdraw has suffered a lot of battle damage.  Surprisingly, it is in decent condition, but like most of the 'Mechs in the unit it is hard to repair.  Litany technicians are known to spend a lot of time repairing it after battle.

BATTLEMECH TRAITS:  Difficult to Maintain, Distracting

MECHWARRIOR DATA:

Kavellrist Cora Vale is a rebel that used to serve for the Lyran Commonwealth.  She was close to Issac's father and fought alongside him a few times during the Ronin Wars along the Draconis border.  After Vlad's retirement, and a court martial from the Lyran military (she was part of a riot duty campaign that went horribly wrong.  Cora states that she was just doing her job but the Lyran military used her as an example to hide their bad orders), she ran off with her 'Mech and joined Litany.  She is a fearless, bright, and loyal MechWarrior.

PILOT:     Lieutenant Teegan Jones
BATTLEMECH:   WTH-1 Whitworth
SKILLS:   Piloting 5, Gunnery 4 (Alpha Strike Skill 4)
ABILITIES:  None
BATTLEMECH STATUS REPORT:

Teegan's Whitworth has an issue with the left torso LRM ammunition feed.  It is known to jam after the location suffers damage because of the weak internals.  The left torso has 2 points of internal damage that cannot be repaired.

BATTLEMECH TRAITS:  Difficult to Maintain, Distracting, Ammunition Feed Problem (LRM-10)

MECHWARRIOR DATA:

Lieutenant Teegan Jones is a young MechWarrior captured from a small mercenary unit that was hired to serve the Draconis Combine.  A fierce conflict with Litany rebels, lead by Rebecca Van Biezen, left her injured in the wreck of her Dragon BattleMech.  Rather than joining the dispossessed, she took the offer from Rebecca (may or may not have been forced) to join and lead Litany's recon lance.  Teegan is a skillful commander who is still proving herself valuable.

PILOT:     Kavellrist Milena Burday
BATTLEMECH:   SDR-5V Spider
SKILLS:   Piloting 5, Gunnery 5 (Alpha Strike Skill 5)
ABILITIES:  None
BATTLEMECH STATUS REPORT:

Milena's Spider had to have both of its medium lasers replaced with common Magna MK II models from a hard hit to the center torso.  The weapons now fire normally but have some of the components exposed.  A hit to the center torso can disable one of the medium lasers.

BATTLEMECH TRAITS:  Difficult to Maintain, Distracting, Exposed Weapon Linkage (Medium Laser)

MECHWARRIOR DATA:

Lieutenant Milena Burday is a new member of Litany.  Not much is known about her past.  She was once a part of a rebel force that was supplied by Litany.  She used to pilot an ArgoMech, was given an UrbanMech after combat training, and showed enough skill to join the ranks of Litany.  She was given a Spider that was recently salvaged and repaired.  She is a very quiet and reserved person.

PILOT:     Kavellrist Richard Kane
BATTLEMECH:   CLNT-2-3T Clint
SKILLS:   Piloting 5, Gunnery 5 (Alpha Strike Skill 5)
ABILITIES:  None
BATTLEMECH STATUS REPORT:

Richard's Clint takes more time to repair because of some left torso armor issues.  It can still be repaired to full strength.

BATTLEMECH TRAITS:  Difficult to Maintain, Distracting

MECHWARRIOR DATA:

Lieutenant Richard Kane is a crazy Mechwarrior with a serious drinking problem.  He is just as serious in combat even though he is always known to have a canteen full of bourbon.  Some say his addiction adds to his skills, while others say he is just lucky he hasn't died yet.  Nothing seems to bother him and he gets a thrill living his life on the edge.

PILOT:     Kavellrist Nicole Watkins
BATTLEMECH:   COM-2D Commando
SKILLS:   Piloting 5, Gunnery 4 (Alpha Strike Skill 4)
ABILITIES:  None
BATTLEMECH STATUS REPORT:

Nicole's Commando has issues with the ammunition feed for the SRM system in the right arm if the right torso takes damage.

BATTLEMECH TRAITS:  Difficult to Maintain, Distracting, Ammunition Feed Problem (SRM-4)

MECHWARRIOR DATA:

Kavellrist Nicole Watkins is a vocal MechWarrior who shares the same booze addiction as Richard.  They are interested in one another, and they are never too far from each other.  She was once a decorated officer of the Free Rasalhauge Republic until her addiction earned her a demotion.  After going AWOL, she met Richard, who introduced her to Teegan.  Impressed by her credentials, Teegan referred her to Issac who gave her a Commando to pilot.  Since then, she has earned 3 kills, 1 of them the Spider that is now piloted by Milena.

Just trying to get the ideas in my head straight...

Soul of a New Machine

Right at the beginning of the Ronin Wars in 3034, Issac and his most loyal followers came up with a covert operation to take equipment from ronin Combine forces.  Their goal was to start their own independent unit called "Litany Against Fear" and profit from the war.  The Van Biezen twins and Rebecca Unther joined Issac with their own 'Mechs.  Using their connections, they were able to coordinate a raid during a KungsArmé battle where they captured a Union class dropship, some 'Mechs, and 2 Shilone fighters.  Litany suffered a lot of damage.  The twins lost their 'Mechs but they captured 2 Panthers that were brand new.

While they could have left the planet, thanks to their newly acquired dropship, Litany instead cut a deal with the inexperienced KungsArmé to combat the ronin and put the rightful people of Radstadt back into power.  They did this for an undisclosed amount of c-bills and first pick on all battlefield salvage.  The operation lasted for months.  This put Litany on the brink of destruction until they successfully captured a shipment from Quickscell Corporation meant for the ronin.  A company of tanks were acquired and split between Litany and the KungsArmé.  Most of the supplies went to Litany and their followers.

Litany had now gained the upper hand.  Attacks were made hitting the ronin forces where it hurts.  They struck night and day with no specific pattern targeting commanders and raiding supply lines.  Some of the supplies were given to the KungsArmé but the rest were given to the local rebels who joined in to fight.  After a month, the ronin forces finally started their retreat.  During their escape, the leader of the ronin military Akumu Onda was killed by Issac, which stuck a final blow in their operation.  This gave the KungsArmé the momentum they needed to push back at the ronin military and force them to surrender.  The citizens banned together to reestablish a government and rebuild their military.  Litany, now finished with their contract, salvaged a lance of BattleMechs and a horde of supplies.  This brought them up to a Company.  After Litany left Radstadt they met with a Scout class jumpship that went rogue and joined the unit.

Invisible Wounds

Following their success on Radstadt, in late 3035, Litany moved their operation into the Alshain military district.  They tapped into an underground rebel movement that aimed to riot against Combine influence on Alshain.  In exchange for support, with both supplies and training, Litany would receive top salvage and pay.  For almost a year, Litany ran several hit and run attacks aimed at politicians and supply lines.  Most of them were losses due to the inexperience of the rebels.

Their worst loss was a strike against a Combine convoy that was delivering rations and ammunition to a military base.  One of the rebel ambushes were spotted by a recon lance and destroyed.  Litany lost 2 of their 'Mechs and 2 lances of vehicles.  The rebels supporting them were slaughtered.  Issac used them as a distraction to see if they could at least get something from the convoy.  Only one of the trucks were captured and it was enough to support the unit for a few more days.  Issac was furious at the incompetence of the rebels.  Litany had suffered losses that forced them to abort the contract.  Despite protests from the rebels they took whatever salvage they could with them.

As Litany was ready to leave Alshain the rebels had turned on them in an attempt to take back the salvage and pay from the campaign.  Issac attempted to strike a deal but quickly decided to fight back.  There was no negotiating, the rebels wanted Litany dead and wanted all their equipment so they could continue their operation against the Combine.  The conflict only lasted a day with Litany losing a few light tanks.  Litany was more experienced and used whatever dirty tactics they could to win.  Knowing the location of the rebel base of operations, Litany held some of the rebels hostage until they got whatever pay the could.  When Litany left the planet the rebels had lost their war with the Combine.

Dead Man Walking

From 3037 to late 3039, Litany had taken a break from the mercenary business and operated as a pirate band between FRR and Lyran border worlds.  Issac also took the time to rebuild the moral of Litany and reestablish ties with old rebel contacts to resupply.  They utilized pirate jump points and performed raids when necessary.  Issac was able to get more vehicles and other supplies from Quickscell Corporation.  More rebels joined the unit bringing their own BattleMechs.  This brought them back up to strength but not at the same level they were after the ronin wars.

Even after their 2 year hiatus the Combine remembered Litany from the attempted uprising on Alshain.  They were under pursuit by a small Mercenary unit called "The Securitron" who accepted a hit on Issac, the twins, and Rebecca.  Litany and The Securitron clashed on Al Hillah during a raid for water and ammunition.  In the quick battle, Issac was brutally injured, and the rest of the unit hunted The Securitron down and annihilated them.  Their leader Winston Bourne was held captive for a month while Issac recovered from his injuries.  It is unknown how Issac dealt with his hitman but it resulted in Bourne's death.

Controlled Demolition

At the end of 3039, Litany got back into mercenary work and accepted a deal with a rebel movement on Kobe.  The planet had always been a hotspot for activity since the second succession war thanks to the Combine's search and destroy missions.  After the Lyrans took over the planet, remnants of the Combine military hung around and threatened locals, but were thought to have been subdued.  The movement stayed underground as a crime syndicate but came out of hiding during the war of 3039.  WIth the new Federated Commonwealth distracted, the locals turned to Litany who decided to help.

As soon as Litany arrived on the planet they were greeted by vehicles rigged with explosives and similar traps.  Their BattleMechs went untouched, but a lot of their light vehicles sustained damage that took them out of the fight.  Litany split into 2 groups and went on a planetary hunt.  Issac's group fought on the mainland and was able to locate two bases of operation.  He was surprised at the equipment the Combine remnants still had.   It looked as if the syndicate had planned on retaking the planet after reestablishing contact with the Combine.  This discovery unleashed a hell that would follow for several months.  More of the syndicate started to surface and almost an entire company of light and medium BattleMechs appeared. In the first month, Litany suffered massive losses, mostly because the syndicate had a better feel for the terrain and Litany was split in two.  The months after tilted into Litany's favor who outmatched and outnumbered the syndicate forces once their unit got back together.  Litany got their victory but still had another continent to cleanse.

The syndicate was not going to give up without a fight.  With nothing to lose, they started to take hostages and attack anything and anyone they could.  Litany was able to prevent several of these attacks.  One of these being a hospital that was taking care of civilian and military casualties.  At this point, both sides were suffering massive losses, but Litany still had the upper hand.  Late 3040, the Federated Commonwealth entered the picture.  At first, they thought that Litany was behind these attacks, but the rebels who hired them convinced them otherwise.  Issac was able to make a deal with the Commonwealth that doubled their pay.  He gave them all of the information he had on the syndicate and Litany assisted when needed.  After recieving pay, Litany left Kobe, and all of the credit was given to the Federated Commonwealth.  The citizens knew what had really happened but they finally had some stability they lacked since the second succession war.

Linchpin

For the next 5 years, Litany took time to rebuild their unit.  Tensions were starting to rise among the ranks.  Rebecca and the twins were still supportive of Issac but others were doubting the mission and goal of the unit.  The lack of direction was starting to take its toll on most of the newcomers.  They were starting to become tired of the unit's ronin lifestyle.  Issac was disappointed, even angry, but he allowed those who wanted to leave to go peacefully and without judgement.  The lance that left was quickly replaced with other rebels who wanted to join the unit.  With most of the gaps filled, Issac worked on reigniting the spark that was lost years ago.

To keep things simple for the newcomers Litany focused on minor border disputes, riot duty, and raiding for supplies.  They moved up the border of the FRR/Combine until they arrived on Idlewind.  The Idlewind Stormtroopers, a local militia with no Combine support, were under constant turmoil from a pirate band that terrorized the locals.  Litany agreed to help them for exclusive salvage rights and decent pay.  For their first mission, Litany had to defend a supply depot from a grab and go raid.  With better trained rebels they were able to prevent the pirates from achieving their goal.  With the rebels on garrison, Litany pushed forward, chasing the pirates into a series of canyons.  This turned into an ambush that destroyed a few 'Mechs and vehicles.  Litany turned the battle around and captured the pirates.  With some new intel, they were able to find the dropship of the pirate band and fight them.  Litany destroyed them, captured the dropship, and the prisoners were handed off to the people of Idlewind.  Litany kept the 'Mechs and some of the vehicles that were salvaged.  They left Idlewind with the captured dropship and a hefty amount of supplies.

For the first time in a long time Litany was in great condition.  Everyone in the unit was getting along, morale was great, and they had a good amount of supplies to keep the unit maintained.  By 3046, Litany had a full company of BattleMechs supported by tanks, infantry, and fighters.  For the next 3 years, Litany traveled the coreward end of the FRR/Combine border worlds, raiding and maintaining the unit until the next big deal.

Issac had no idea about what fate had in store for him.

Timelessness

Mid 3049, Litany accepted a contract on Porthos to destroy a pirate army that has been growing in size.  The force was said to be almost a company in size.  Litany's first objective was to take back an airfield that was captured by the pirates over a year ago.  This would cripple their ability to resupply their army.  The pirates did not expect to see Litany and quickly lost the airfield.  Half of the unit was able to escape..

Litany chased the pirate band for several weeks getting into several hit and run skirmishes.  After capturing one of the pirates they learned about their main base of operations, hidden deep in a forest basin.  Litany surrounded the base and quickly forced the pirates to surrender.  Their equipment was confiscated and split between Litany and the local militia.  The pirates were imprisoned.

When Litany was ready to leave Porthos, an unidentified military force entered orbit.  They identified themselves as "Clan Ghost Bear" and issued a "Trial of Possession" for the planet.  Litany and the militia had no idea what they were talking about.  Issac assumed that the pirates were still out there and playing a joke on them.  He "bid" everything he had.

The unidentified force landed on the planet and were immediately greeted with several APC's loaded with explosives.  Issac was surprised to see a horde of unidentified 'Mechs.  The 'Mechs took out the APC's and almost half of Litany with ease.  Issac made the call and told the last of his forces to scatter.  They all broke contact and forced the attackers to split and follow.  5 of the unidentified 'Mechs followed Issac, the Twins, and Rebecca.

Issac lead the attackers into the city where the 'Mechs were pummeled with SRM's from carriers and harassers.  3 of them were destroyed, but the other 2 tore the tanks apart.  The twins focused on a damaged 'Mech that looked like a Thunderbolt.  Rebecca and Issac took on a 'Mech that looked like an Archer with bird legs.

The Twins, despite how talented they were, were killed in battle.  After Issac and Rebecca took out their target, Issac charged his 'Mech into the Thunderbolt-like 'Mech, infuriated by the death of his close friends.  This destroyed several components in "The Archetype" but badly damaged his opponent.  The 'Mech got back up and fired a shotgun-like autocannon into the front of "The Archetype."  Before Issac could fire back, slugs walked over the front of his machine and the cockpit.  Issac was badly injured.  Rebecca fired her lasers and finished off the enemy.

Only a Lance of 'Mechs and vehicles from Litany made it back to the dropship.  Issac's son Erik refused to leave his father.  He ran an extraction mission and was able to recover "The Archetype" and his father.  The remnants of Litany made it off planet and utilized pirate jump points to escape the unidentified attackers.  Rebecca Van Biezen and Erik Van Houten were the only two Mechwarriors of Litany left.  The legend of "The Archetype" lived, but its MechWarrior did not.  Erik was with Issac as he took his last breath.  Erik swore vengeance on his father's killers, and swore to uphold his father's legacy.

For those interested, all of this was leading to something.  You can see the demo for the scenario book here:

Go easy on me.  I have a lot of cleaning up to do, a lot with the writing and with the scenarios, but this at least puts everything together visually for me.

Needs more Clan fights, a pirate scenario or two, maybe a random OpFor generator based on era... thoughts of using possible active dropship either as defender or attacker? Would like a true Blue Water Naval scenario, either as support or defender. Rarely ever get these, as most are mech on mech fights with something other supporting them.

What about a dismounted scenario? Using Infantry and the pilots out of their respected mechs?

Fear, do you have the old Objective Raids book? Some of those can be fun if carefully thought out.

Would you consider some sort of House Raid Scenario, either attacker or defender? Would you use more than one clan in your fights? Other merc units, famous or not?

Just ideas.

BTW: Love the ones you have made so far. Keep up the good work.  O0

My focus is on Alpha Strike, but I may add a few more missions...  I'm still working on it.  I'll keep those in mind.  A naval one would be pretty cool.

FYI, I took some of your advice.  I came up with 2 new missions (1 for the Clan Campaign and another for Descent) that focus on Infantry and Tanks.  Descent is a capture mission and the Clan Campaign is the extraction mission ran by Erik.

Hey Fear~

How far have they gone, are they still stuck pre-jihad or have they come up in 3160? Have they gone against the canon Clans or some type of AU version(s)?

The unit was destroyed during the Clan Invasion.  It's assumed no one survived, but Issac's son did.

I've been playing with the fluff a lot more but I lost time because of work.

EDIT:

There are a few things I wanted to change up.

1)  Issac changes from his Assassin to a Phoenix Hawk after he avoids death.
2)  More characters
3)  Scenarios more specific to Alpha Strike
4)  A book that looks identical to the old scenario books (ie Grey Death Legion, Wolf's Dragoons/Black Widow Company)

I have a new roster planned out...  I want to make Alpha Strike scenarios and have the ending (against Clan Ghost Bear) in  BattleForce scale.

Litany ends up becoming an over-sized Battalion of 5 companies with an Aerospace Squadron.  Each "Sect" is unique and has a command lance so they can operate independently.
