They've got four or five shows I watch that are pretty good (Once Upon A Time, Revenge, Castle, Modern Family, The Middle). Everything else is crap especially The Bachelor/Bachelorette.

Someone said OUAT already started up its new season?

It's going up against the #1 Scripted Show in Television for the past two or thee years, NCIS (which I will be watching)> I'll watch AoS tomorrow online.

Besides hulu, where else can one see it after it airs, due to I'll be watching NCIS.?

OK I am liking this show!!

Not a big fan of Modern Family, but I do like Castle just haven't really watched it. Once Upon A Time I need to start following I thought that was actually pretty good the couple of times I have seen it.

I think even though its going up against NCIS I think it will hold its own... I mean there are probably more nerds like us who want to see something regular on TV dealing with Comics :) and not on Syfy  >:D

It's very Joss Whedon.  I see a lot of potential but we'll have to see how it knits together.

Color me heretical, but I can appreciate Firefly but I don't treat it like a holy relic others do...I suspect I'll be the odd man out here shortly.

I'm with you Pope. I like Firefly and Joss Whedon, but that can't save something. Avengers was a great movie, but there were some huge names in that movie, with a big budget and big action. I would hope this show makes it farther then a season. Then I will get the box set and watch it in a bender over a day.  Like I do with many other shows.
My girlfriend is a huge Joss Whedon fan and that guy could do a pile of crap and she would like it, there are many other geeks that do that too. But will it be enough for ABC to keep the show on when rating are low.

What got me was the intro for that 80's show came on immediately after, and featured that very scene in it.

Huh. So it's a nod to the comic, got it. I still don't think it had the same 'feel' the the rest of the universe...  But I can appreciate it's history.

Not as much as DR. WHO, but it was definitely watchable.

Pretty enjoyable.  It felt very much like a Joss Whedon show, which isn't a bad thing IMO.  Of course, after 2-3 seasons (assuming it's on that long), they need to take it out of his hands and give it to someone else.  ;)

And yes, the flying car is an old SHIELD staple.  As soon as I saw it, I knew that's what it was.

Ah, that's right!  Stark senior demonstrated one at the expo in Captain America's movie.

And I think Shepherd Book had the most meaningful line in the show (paraphrasing):  "Tahiti.  He really doesn't know, does he?"  So... LMD Coulson, anyone?

I thought the pilot was fine.  Just fine.  Disney really needs this show to succeed, so it's obvious they weren't going to be able to take any real risks with the pilot.  As a result, the pilot didn't really do anything great, but it also didn't do anything wrong.  It was safe, and adequately established the characters and the nature of the show, which is what a pilot is supposed to do.  I'll be looking forward to seeing it grow as the season progresses.  It's definitely helped by the fact that Clark Gregg - as the anchor of the cast - is playing a character he's already been playing for 5 years and knows intimately.

Well, an early prototype also shows up in the Captain America movie.

I left the closed captioning on when re-watching the episode, and noticed that before Fitz's first line, it noted [SCOTTISH ACCENT] - but for Simmons, it was [BRITISH ACCENT].

Ahem.

Was too busy to watch it last night, but just got done with it on the DVR. Very well done- as was said earlier, it didn't really do a lot of really wild stuff, but it did set up the premise nicely, made several references to the Avengers' universe to tie it in nicely, and even gave some of the Iron Man 3 story more depth. Well done indeed, if very safe-feeling. Hoping they'll be a bit more bold as time goes on.

I'll be very interested to see what they do with the formerly-deceased Coulson from here on, and to see how much of this show finds its way back into the movies from whence it spawned as time goes on.

Well we had Cobie Smulders last night.  She's not a regular right now, but it's possible she joins up in a hypothetical season 2 after her commitment to How I Met Your Mother is over. We can probably also guarantee that Stan Lee shows up at some point.  In general, I think it's more likely that these guys will cameo in Avengers 2 than vice versa, but they might try to do something special for sweeps.

Samuel L. Jackson has said he's willing to do it, so it would not surprise me to see Director Fury show up.
