Yeah, he's not bad... just not particurlarly good either.

His novels that bad eh?

A Zack Snyder REBEL MOON kind of affair?

Not that awful, but his writing was pretty formulaic and tended to have a lot of generic good vs evil themes, from what I can recall.  Really not a good fit for the Battletech universe.

What is left to come out?

Going off of memory, there's the Stefan Amaris, the Newgrange, the remaining 2765 ships, the Golden Century ships, and it's not a WarShip but I'm going to include the Castrum anyway. Probably missed something.

But that wouldn't be all that changes because you've suddenly got a bunch of tonnage to work with.

I wonder, how nasty IS 'missile boats' would be, if they ALL shifted to using Clan LRMs??

IME, they'd be incredibly nasty, especially given that their BV wouldn't go up that much.  You're looking at -maybe- a 100-200 BV2 jump if you swap out two IS LRM20s for their Clan equivalent.

We typically combined two of Catalyst's neoprene battle mats.

So just a suggestion trying a larger battlefield.  Really on such a small battlefield it is a lot easier to camp at the back were faster units can not flank as well.  Adding say two more of those matts will create a larger field and make it harder for a few units to camp at the back without getting flanked and eating shots in the rear armor.   If you open your play area up to more manuvering it will give other units a chance to deal with the campers.

Now I would use some of those lights your people like to use and pair it with some sort of LRM carrier tank hiding behind  cover and bring in indirect fire on the campers

The Barbell is one of the more unusual, if not innovative, Security Mechs to come into the market in recent years. The most notable feature of the Barbell is the use of Industrial TSM, allowing the 25-ton 'Mech to double it's lifting and striking strength. While armed with  dual Right Arm mounted MGs fed by a half-ton of ammo, these are not the true weapons of the Barbell, but rather it instead uses it's I-TSM to carry hefty loads of Handheld Weapons to greatly increase its firepower.

With it's I-TSM, 5-tons of payload is available. Most commonly a cluster of MGs, or a Medium Laser, SRMs etc. are used. Hazard Security Solutions sells an assortment of handhelds, and kits if customers have a specific taste, on the side.

Update: Heavy FF is listed as a Lyran Commonwealth prototype in 3056 according to ph 29 IOAE - theoretically this is possible, though it being available to the Draconis Combine and Capellans and Blakists wouldn't make sense then, and it should be listed as Experimental in MUL, no? Experimental rules level for 3058 at least

Nitpick noted and valid.  I am not sure what wob called it other than 3rd transfer.  If I get an actual name and go thru edits again, will make the change.
