On 16th May 2016 the following errata was posted to the Alpha Strike errata thread on these forums:
p17, Occupying and intervening Terrain
add sentence at end of paragraph
"If terrain is occupied by the unit, the first 1" of that terrain extending away from the base of the unit is still considered the occupied terrain. Occupied terrain more than 1" from the base of the unit becomes intervening terrain. For example, if a unit occupies a building, and is within 1" of the edge of the building, the building is occupied but not intervening so it does not block LOS. If the same unit occupies a building, and line of sight is drawn through more than 1" of the building, then building is now intervening and blocks LOS. For Woods, if the unit occupies the Woods, the first 1" away from the base of the unit does not count toward the 6" of Woods blocking LOS."
As I recall this errata was posted in response to a question in this forum regarding how to handle line of sight when units enter buildings. This errata does not appear in the 2018 (v2.4) document, nor does it appear to have been incorporated into ASCE which states on p.43:
"Terrain is occupied if any part of the unit’s base is in contact with the terrain. Terrain is intervening if the Line of Sight passes through it before reaching the target, and any terrain occupied by the attacker is considered intervening even if it does not pass through Line of Sight to the target (see Line of Sight, p. 40)."
So, has this past errata been accidently overlooked in the updates or was it deliberately dropped?
If it was a deliberate omission how do you handle LOS for a target inside a building?
