Well, I have some bad karma stocked with Clarke Marek, so he should be the one to do it. I'm not sure I owe anyone else right now.

Is it bad that when I first read this, I thought you were talking about Francisco and not James?

With him being unconventional, and according to my wife, and making a joke about the Oscars on General Hospital today I think he was being a jackass on purpose...supported by drugs or not.

Yeah, I'll chime in here and say I thought Franco's stoned jack4$$ personality was his default mode.

I'm inclined to agree, and I actually like the fella. On some level I respect that his answer to "why?" is always "for the hell of it".

I'll say this for Franco: I don't know of any other actor or performer who took over 60 credit hours a semester to get his degree in two years, then got a master's from Columbia in two more, and is working on his PhD in English at Yale while making movies, writing novels, hosting the Oscars and appearing on daytime TV shows. Ol' boy's got my respect. And that's a rare commodity.

So that's why he look uninterested to be at the show (according to critics). It is said he appeared distant and was stiff as a statue on stage.
