Lyran Guards Stalker II
« on: 12 March 2018, 22:13:02 »
Had a bit of time indoors yesterday due to rain, so spent the afternoon working on a new project: A Stalker II in Lyran Guards colors. I must say, I'm really enjoying working with the Lyran blue and white color scheme, even though I've never really played Lyrans in the board game. Guess I may need to buy a few more Assault 'Mechs if people like the way this one turned out.  ;D

Nice work.  Good clean line there between the two colors and the white has excellent depth to it.  I likes it.  8) 8)

Looks nice! O0

How did you get such a clean line between the colors?

@YingJanshi: Panel lines! Since there are lots of them running along the body of the model, I used them to mark the border between the blue and white sections. Because the panel lines on this miniature are very clean and straight, they made it easy to paint two different colors with a minimum of mess.

Seriously, I have a lot of praise for this sculpt-it was very clean, easy to assemble and a real pleasure to paint thanks to the crisp, sharp detailing.

Same here. I plan to use this one and my DA King Crab and Black Knight as Succession War proxies. I like them much better than the original designs.

Thanks for the kind words everyone, I'm glad people like the Stalker II. I may follow up with a Banshee.

It's a really sharp job on a really sharp model.

Seriously, I may just use these from now on for Stalkers. Although those new plastic ones are pretty inexpensive...

Question: How did the Lyrans get their hands on a Stalker II? MUL states it's exclusive to the Cappies and the Free Worlders, with a few showing up in Canopian colors.

Salvage, defection, or third party buyer. ;)
