Do mercenaries benefit from/get hindered by traits that a Faction has? 

For instance, mercenaries working for the Federated Suns in 3025 - do they benefit from Superior Doctrine?  Do mercenaries employed by the Draconis Combine automatically gain Fanatical Offence/Defence during their employment (perhaps as a requirement for employment)?
