Wolf Spider Progress (Timber Wolf, Mad Cat MKII, Solitaire, Night Wolf)

Heya fellow Mechwarriors and Freeborns! I was working on some of my Wolf Spiders before the Forum went down a few weeks ago and went MIA due to other things and I wanted to repost the Progress Log. I just got finished with the Night Wolf (need to Base him). I hope you enjoy the pictures.

I tried to keep a similar theme going across the Star by painting growling teeth on the mech to represent a more totemic wolf design as well as an attempt to make the mechs a bit more Rabid and threatening.

My Night Wolf has been my favorite Assault Mech in game lately, mostly because it is such a great mech to reinforce your star versus WoB and their love of Improved C3 Networks. It has actually done quite well also when it came down to bearing down firepower, that plasma cannons also makes for a great tool when my opponent try to ride that heat curve. Anyway I love the Night Wolf and the miniature for it is awesome.

Awesome job!

I do think you repeated a picture though. The "Front of the Mad Car Mk II" one I believe.

One tip:
You can use a black wash to soften panel highlights that are too stark and bright.
If the highlights are in slightly wider bands, a wash can be used to make a smooth color transition...the blending usually looks nice.

Gotta say I am impressed by your additional work to the paint scheme.

I have always been leery of the good old Black/Red paint scheme since its about as unique as hair on a dog but what you added in addition to that was good enough for me to want to go back and paint up some Wolf Spiders.  [rockon]

Love the teeth, love the yellow here and there and how its totally broken down and spiced up the boring as crap Black/Red Paint job.
