A few questions regarding the Advanced Infantry Options (ASCE p.139).
1) Do units that "hit the deck" benefit from Target Movement Modifiers?
It says that the unit which hits the deck does not move, which would seem to invoke the Standstill rule for moving less than 1 inch. But the Hitting the Deck rule says that "Attacks against an infantry unit that has hit the deck suffer an additional +1 Target Number modifier..." (emphasis added). The word "additional" could possibly imply: in addition to other modifiers, such as TMMs. However, it could also mean, besides TMMs, which the unit does not get, because it is at a "Standstill/Minimum Movement."
2) Can Battlearmor dig in?
It says at the top, regarding the advanced rules, that, "Unless otherwise specified, they apply equally to both conventional and battle armored infantry unit types." So "conventional," in this context, seems to be a way of saying "non-battlearmor." And, under Digging In, it says "any conventional foot, jump, or motorized infantry unit (movement codes f, m, or j) may opt to dig into..." (emphasis added). So that means it is "specifying otherwise" and saying only non-battlearmor (conventional) infantry may dig in? Do I have that right?
3) Can "dug in" units benefit from TMMs? (Either in general or if they move the minimum 1" within their "dug in" position?)
4) If the answer is "no" to either 1+2 or 1+3, then it would seem that Elementals cannot appreciably benefit from any kind of special defensive action, being that they'd lose the +2 TMM (from jumping movement). Do I have that right?
