Deeply affected by his experience with Combine insurgents during the War of 3039, Fred Knowles left the AFFS and made his way to Outreach to found a private security force focused on counter-insurgency and peacekeeping operations.
Parliament Security Solutions is a mixed battalion force, consisting of a mech lance, an armor platoon, a mechanized infantry company, an air mobile jump infantry company and a short company of motorized combat engineers. While the unit is well maintained, Knowles has kept costs as low as possible, shirking advanced technology upgrades as unnecessary to their work. The only exception is a Firestarter refitted to the FS9-S standard, where the Beagle Active Probe is useful for ferreting out units in hiding.
Where most mercenary units shy away from riot duty contracts, Parliament Security Solutions excel at them. PSS has mostly been serving in the Free Worlds League since their formation, undertaking contracts from various minor nobles and some even directly from the LCCC put help maintain security, put down rebellions, guard facilities, and conduct anti-piracy operations. They've developed a reputation of being able to handle delicate situations and avoid unnecessary civilian casualties. Their record earned them a spot in Operation GUERRERO, safeguarding League supply sites on worlds taken back from the Federated Commonwealth. With the end of major combat operations for the FWL, PSS has turned an eye towards the unstable region left in the wake of the invasion being referred to as the Chaos March. They have hopes of finding it ripe for a unit with their skill set.
