Nicely done!

Be honest, you did this with a Lite-Brite didn't you?
-
The map's so nice I watched it thrice!
-
Thats excellent, good job.
-
That was amazing. Thank you! 8) 8)
-
I can't stop watching it for different details.
-
-
Incredible.

18 mb image file. Makes me feel old.

Some things in life are sub-cool.
Some things in life are cool.
Some things in life are super-cool.
This... is just plain cryogenic.
-
It has always been part of the lore that planets where wiped off the map during the Succession Wars but this is possibly the first time I have ever seen a visual representation of just how much was destroyed.
Amazing yet harrowing.
-
That was really awesome nice job.
-
:o

I just wish we had more accurate data on when planets were colonized and died off. It would have made this map timeline even more enjoyable.
-
Pretty dang cool to see the Inner Sphere take shape.

This data is based on the SUCs data which is mined directly from the various maps produced for sourcebooks. So while not year by year I think it's as accurate as we can get.
-
Now all we need (well, I want 8) ) is a Dirichlet tesselated map for strategic games.

LOL excellent analogy.

Very cool!
-
Well done and thank you.
-
Makes what happened to the Rim Worlds Republic after Amaris quite shocking to see.
-
Amazing! :o What did you guys use to make this?!

Hence my comment. The maps are nice, but watching hundred of worlds go poof all at once when we know they should have gone poof over X number of years makes me sad.
While impossible, it would still be nice to have the information in canon form.

This map shows why friends don't let friends use WMDs. Great job!
-
So many stories in one gif. Nice work.

That's a pretty awesome map, thanks for sharing!
I agree with the intensity of seeing the demise of the RWR collapse, but what I found equally remarkable was the big interior colonisation of the Lyran Commonwealth during the age of the Star League. I think I never though about it. Although by comparing maps dating from the foundation of the Star League and its end or the early Succession Wars Era, it becomes clear that the information was out there.
But I never read about it. To me, it looks like the LC gained at least two thirds of its systems during that period, perfectly peaceful and without conquest.

They almost all do that. If you look closely, the great houses more or less take shape by the time the SL forms but then the amount of colonized systems increases dramatically inside those borders. You also see them thin out quite a bit as the succession wars rage on.

WOW! very cool!

OUT-FRICKIN-STANDING

For anyone interested this post (https://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php?topic=67285.0) explains how the data is being used in MekHQ.

That's really cool and really impressive. Nice work to all involved!
