Game Rules: The Nova CEWS operates as a combination of ECM,active probe and C3i equipment, with the following exceptions.
The Nova CEWS can link up to two other units mounting a Nova CEWS.

Want to confirm that NOVA can only connect to NOVA systems.

Correct. It can only connect to another Nova CEWS.

Further clarifications:

Only one type of C3 can be installed per unit, C3 can only connect to like C3 and Nova to Nova units--except Boosted C3, which works with standard C3 (but not Nova).
