Being an "Old School" Fan, I'm trying to get all of the minis of designs from TRO's 2750, 3025 and 3026. Well, NOT counting the Warhips from TRO 2750, as I have ZERO Interest in them. I looked through the 3 TRO's in question, compared them to a list of the minis I own, and made a note of the designs I'm missing. While I found about half of them, there's still several that either aren't available as minis, or in the case of some ASFs, they're only available as Micro-scale Fighters. I was wondering if there are any plans to make minis of the following designs, or Mech-scale sculpts in the case of the ASF designs on the list. ??? I've done Searches for most of them, and while the VTOLs have been discussed, I never saw anything "Official" said about any of them. Therefore, I'm not looking for either further Discussion OR "Speculation" about any of them, I'm simply wanting "Official" word from someone like Speck. O0

The 3026 Goblin was never made, and there are several entries from the back of 3026 that never got made, either. The Spad with only 1 wing was a sculptor error that never should have been made, with the "2-wing variant" being the correct mini. I have no idea why the 1-wing piece is even still made.
-
The standard APCs have never been made either, to the best of my knowledge. Not the larger Heavy APCs, but the standard, squad level APCs found in the original 3026TRO.
I've also seen a Guardian conventional fighter before, but I'm not sure about where it came from, since I've never seen one in IWM or RP's catalogs.
-
Further 'Mech-scale fighters will require fan funding to get off the ground. PM Sawbones if you have a serious interest in backing one or more of them; they won't go through Dave, so the sculpting side isn't in danger of backing up for years before you'd see the piece. I can't speak for any of the other issues regarding FF though.

I'd buy a bunch of the 3026 APCs if they were produced.

The Goblin on IWM's site has TRO 3039 quoted as the Source, yet it's the same artwork as TRO 3026, and the turret doesn't match the art either way. Still, it's a "Goblin", so I'm counting it anyway. ;D I'm as confused as you about the 1-wing Spad. It seemed obvious to me that the artist left the 2nd wing off because of the print, like was done with the Ahab. They made the Ahab (micro-scale) with 2 wings though, so I don't see why they messed-up on the Spad. ???

I noticed the lack of "Regular" APC's, but like the Goblin, since we have the "Heavy" versions (and I've got each of them), I went with it anyway. As for the Guardian, I remember a certain Former Camospecs Member from Australia offered some on eBay a couple of years back. I'm wanting "Legal, Legitimate" miniatures, made by IWM, NOT "Illegal, Unofficial" miniatures made by someone that is a known seller of same. That's all I can Safely say on that Subject. :-X

As I'm still recovering from the burns I received from Funding the Thunderbolt IIC, I was Hoping the others might be in the "Official" Schedule somewhere, some time in the future. :-\

Wait, the Spad mini only had one wing? Seriously?
I've never seen one before in miniature form, but... wow. That kind of makes the Thug snafu look a lot better...
-
Yeah, the first microfighter mini had only one wing. Because the 2750 art forgot that horrible gut-wrenching spirals are not a normal part of every atmospheric flight.
-
I'd certainly buy more mechscale fighters if they came out.

Agreed. Along with the 2750 fighters for my Wobblies, I'd also love to see the Hellcat & Centurion put into production in mechscale.

It's based on the TRO3058 art.

right! forgot about those!

I've been hoping for the standard APCs for years. I was thinking about trying to fan-fund them when the program went on indefinite hiatus. :-\

W40K Epic-scale Rhinos make a good proxy. They're bigger than typical 1:285-scale M113s or similar APCs, and look good next to the little IWM infantry. A little small for the DA infantry, but still workable as a squad carrier.
-
I've seen Epic-scale Rhinos used before and you're right, they do look good but they're almost impossible to find as well. I've been thinking about using some of the APCs that GHQ has up, but just haven't made up my mind yet on which one. Any suggestions, other than the M113?
-
The GHQ stuff is true 1:285; I find it looks too small next to any BT infantry.
I was lucky enough to score a dozen Rhinos ;)

Funnily enough, they look great next to GHQ infantry. ;D They also work faily well with the old Davion and Kurita infantries. I do like the detail of the IWM PBI's, but find them a little too big. They do make great unarmored Elementals though. Id' like to see a return to 1:285 for infantry, but recognise the problems with that.

I've been hoping for those since the 80's!!!!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make these!

Speck is there hope of seeing these minis?
-
I would love to see the Guardian Fighter. Always liked the look of that mini

Yup, thankfully this is true or that big honkin' box of WH40K Epic I bought back in the 90's would be a complete waste of money. I think I played 2 actual games of it, then used the minis for battletech for the rest of the time...

I've been using N scale cars and such for a while, and I know Herpa made some N scale military vehicles, including an N scale M113. Maybe that would work...

Not any time soon

Not any time soon
So, does this mean we might Possibly see some of them, eventually? ???
-
LOL always the optimist aren't you???
Those aren't the only minis missing...I've got a list of all the mechs from the TRO's. Supposedly we will be seeing at least some of them made, but no dates yet. The Bruin from 3085 is one of them...can't wait for that.

just to satisfy my own curiosity, would you mind sending that list to me?

Heck...I'll attach it here with this preface...
SOME of the mechs on this list COULD use the current mini as the representation...this list is by NO MEANS 100% accurate, and I don't expect each and every variant on the list to make it in to production...this is simply a listing of all mechs that currently do not have sculpts for at least the main version listed in a TRO or other book...
I also have to add that I do not have the Lyran TRO 3145 yet...so I will be adding those mechs to the list too
Edit: I know they are working on the Standard LAM's and the WoB LAM's too...just forgot to note that above.
-
That's one heck of a list! :o I'm thinking they're supposed to be working on at least the "base" models of all of the LAMs, including the Champion, Scorpion amd S-Hawk. We might not see all the variants, but again we'll have the base models at least. I'm all for variety in minis, but unless the Variant would look Considerably Different from the Main model, I can't see having IWM spend the time and resources to make a mini for each and every variant design. You'd be talking Thousands of man-hours in sculpting, along with tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars to do such a thing! :o
I realize "I don't get a vote", when it comes to making those decisions, and my opinion doesn't mean Jack Shit to anyone, anywhere, about anything. However, I'd still rather see minis made of designs that have never been made at all, rather than more variants of existing minis. :-\
-
Im happy as long as they do all the base models . I can use those to kit bash a variant if needed. Plus we need more sent to ral partha europe as im in the uk and dont get the variety you do in the states.

I agree more than you would know. I could have done without the Warhammer IIC 8...in favor of any mech that hasn't been made yet...but oh well.
Oh...and your opinion matters...it just stinks sometimes and gets you banned! LOL ;) j/k

Champion and scorpion LAMs are not being done. Shadow hawk LAM is on the list to be done.

Good to hear!

Shucks, I was kind of hoping on a scorpion LAM...Perhaps the 3085 Scorpion would be a good conversion source?
