TECHNICAL: Changing polls after thread lock.
« on: 14 May 2015, 20:10:07 »
Hello! In the fan funding section of the IWM category I was looking to see what the actual votes for different items had been. Didn't want to change anything, was just curious. The thread was locked and had been for some time. I wasn't able to see results until I voted in the poll of this locked thread. To my suprise, I was able to, and it changed the results.

Definitely not a priority, but it might be a good wishlist item (you know, that "wouldn't it be awesome if the forums could do X" list that I'm sure you've got somewhere :) ) to have any locked forum with a poll simply display the results and not be votable any more. This is more for your official polls that get locked after some time so that official results don't get muddled with.

Just a suggestion, Thx.

That's an existing function, provided the person creating the poll puts a time-limit on it.

If you do that, then the poll shuts down voting, and just displays the results. If not, then the poll remains active. The moderation lock only prevents posting.

Wow! That got fixed relativistic time! O0

So, the poll maker in question just didn't tic the time limit box?

O.K, That's cool.

I am pretty sure that I had set a number of days to run on the poll. But it's fixed now since I just locked the voting.

Thanks, Speck. And I do apologise about any confusion and/or stress I may have inadvertently caused.
