The new Wolverine line up
« on: 24 August 2017, 23:39:52 »
Thanks to faithless for procuring two of the Primitive Wolverines at GenCon as well as handing them over quickly!  I was able to start putting bits together several days before I expected and so . . . (still need to put in shin guards and missile rack).

L to R- unseen WVR-6R, PP WVR-8K, WVR-7H, and now the WVR-1R/3R . . .

And without the TRO Project Phoenix 8K, which as I look closely might need a dunk since the primer seems clotted, so you can compare the -7H, -3R and -6R more closely.  The -7H is taller, both in the legs and torso while the -3R and -6R seem to be the same proportions across the board.

Thanks for the comparison shot!  SO the Wolverine II stands 'big brother' over the others, neat!

Yeah, big thanks for the comparison.  That makes the decision making process much easier  :)

So, the 9mm Hornady FTX..is that a proxy for a NAC10 round or something  8)

Honestly, the chin turret on the wolverine is the ONLY thing from the unseen that I will actually miss. Still a little sad it is gone, but in pretty much every other way the Wolverine sculpts keep getting better.

Uh . . . had handed it off to my father in law and just set it down on the table.  The new WVR does have a turret there, but its more like a flat-ish one . .

I see that, but it's not quite the same. I picked one up, but I'm debating sawing that bit off and sticking a little ball of greenstuff there. It's funny, for the most part I think the unseen look like crap these days and don't really miss them. That ball turret is really about the only thing that I think was just...right. I know we can't really have it back in that exact form, but i can still bash it up that way!

Like I said, pretty much every other thing about the primitive mini is better than the unseen or the 8K, in my opinion. I still like the Wolverine II mini though. It's also a pretty nice interpretation to my eye.

Yeah about the ball-gag turret... The only thing i'm bummed out about when it comes to the new Classics redesigns is the Wolverine missing its Ball-turret, having a generic off-center laser barrel sticking out instead. Because other than that head-laser, i absolutely love the new design!

So cool!

I agree about the "V" fin antenna thingy being weird. I may go the paper clip wire route instead.

Awesome... It will be very easy to add on the torso cables using fine copper wire. That will really bring the "Wolverine" out in the new mini.
