(Answered) Superheavy Mechs - critical slots
« on: 07 November 2011, 04:34:05 »
Hello,

I wondered about if can I use a critical slot to fit two different equipment pieces to?
E.g. a Medium Laser and a Medium Pulse Laser?
Or 2 Medium Lasers?
Or an endosteel and a ferro-fibrous crit?
Or an MRM20 (3 crits) + 1t ammo (1 crit) (->1x2 MRM20 plus 1x1(MRM20+ammo)?

If a critical hit happened all equipment fitted to that certain slot is going to get destroyed, is not it?

Best regards

Andreas

Hello,

None of the above. Per p. 146, Jihad: Final Reckoning, The only acceptable combinations of multiple items per crit slot are heat sinks (of the same heat sink type) and ammunition (of the same weapon type).

And, yes, a critical hit affects all items in the slot (for multiple ammo slots and heat sinks, this means a critical hit to everything in that slot, be it two ammo bins, a single Clan double heat sink, two standard heat sinks, or four compact heat sinks), but is only counted as a "single" critical hit for all other purposes.

Hopefully, this helps.

Thank you,
