(Answered) Primitive Mech engines
« on: 26 July 2011, 09:22:35 »
There isn't a proper category for this question, but it pertains to construction, so here goes.

Can primitive battlemechs be built with ICE, fuel cell, or fission engines?  While the rules as written don't specifically address this, it seems like the spirit of the rules would support it.

Thanks.

On second thought, this question may belong under TacOps, since primitive 'Mechs are advanced construciton.  But I'll wait for a decision from a mod, no sense in reposting over there just yet.

Necromancer bump, still unable to discern intent from the rules as written.

I was thinking that this was a pretty straightforward question.  A simple yes or no would do...

Thanks.

Being so new, the nature of Primitive mechs was actually the subject of a lot of time-consuming debate and back-and-forth.  Thank you for your patience.

Replacing a Primitive Engine with any more advanced engine creates a Mixed Tech (Primitive-Modern) unit, but it can indeed be done.

Please note that I will be moving this answer to the TacOps question forum in a few days.
