Will there be another Warship of the Week article?
« on: 14 January 2015, 01:45:57 »
Just wondering, because I love how they're written and the tasty opportunities for ortillery that they offer. :)

Well, there Essex I and Riga II which came out.  They deserve their own reviews.

Sorry it's been a while. When I write them, it's because of a peculiar alignment of boredom, whim, and opportunity, combined with remembering that's a actually thing I could be doing. That last part is the rarest one. :-[

As someone who loves sci-fi naval warfare but has never actually played BattleSpace or AeroTech or whatever they call it now, I love the WSotW articles.  The occasional term is lost on me, but I find the tactics and design commentary enlightening.  I'd also like to see an article on the Impavido, because I'm a Marik and reasons.

If it makes you feel better, despite the fact that I wouldn't know a good Warship if it bit my bony, zombie butt, I am totally getting into the Naval Aspects of the setting, and love the articles.  So you have my support!
I'm not sure how long you've been around on the forums, though you have a thousand posts. Never take anything JKlantern says seriously unless it's about food.

Could have sworn I posted the Essex I. If not, will do next week.

And the Concordat.  I don't believe anyone has ever done that class.

I'd love to help but I don't know how to play B-tech in space sadly.  Know nothing about the rules, how it works or anything :(

I do, but I'm not Guru in advanced space rules. I've had chance play with the regular rules once in a while with pal of mine before he moved half country away.  We're lucky in our game, which the company is still supporting big black boats of space even if their in different Eras.  I just wish there were more variety of them per era per nation.  That's me being completest.   #P

Riga II's appears was nice addition, though i think they should had used the York Class as base image for the ship instead of the original Riga.   Essex I is great ship for it's era.  Unfortunately they used the Vincent's original 2750 art by accident, but i guess were stuck with that now.

I can't wait till we get couple more articles out there. I hope maybe in distant distant future we'll have era with room enough for some new WarShip designs.

Some new warships would be lovely, its why I love Dragon Cat's ATL so much because there's a strong (very strong) naval element and WarShips didn't become extinct or basically grossly endangered again.

With the art its a bit up in the air for me, I prefer most of the 2750 art over the Clan rebuilds (the Vincent looks like a bloody whistle) whilst some of the redesigned art was very good as well.  The later art (Mjolnir and friends basically) is superb and blows both out the water because they look like space ships again rather than something designed on an etch-a-sketch as with the clan refits.  The new art for the old ships as well is great as was the old unseens in the redone 3059(?) book, the Dart, Farragut etc, all looked great.  And i'd love to see some more WarShips in the future but I fear they are going to remain a very rare breed outside of the few Clans who managed to retain their fleets.

The Fan Directory says there was one that was achieved a long time ago, originally wrote in 2005 and reposted 2010.

Maybe we'll get another 5 year anniversary of the article reposted again!  ;D

A solid block of armour with 6 collars minimal SC bays and less AA than an Aegis. Wins battle by straining and yelling "hit me!"

Don't forget the rest of the thread, which is dedicated solely to arguing over which direction the thing flies.

I thought it was about which way the front the ship was located.

Edit: I know that its repeat of what posted.  I was "trying" be amusing.
For record folks trying remember: a good way remember how Avalon flies, think of 1950s Cadillac, with big fins in the back.

All we need is a Steiner to jump in - they were the first to do it in BT history. And who said that the AFFS didn't learn anything from the LCAF during the FedCom years? lol

The canon direction is wrong! It just makes a badass cruiser look like an oversized tug! That's my opinion and I am sticking too it.  ;)
