Alpha Strike Vs Quick Strike
« on: 07 August 2013, 07:28:48 »
So can someone tell me in a nutshell what the differences are?  It looks like damage and armor points are reduced in Alpha Strike vs Quick Strike but I have not had time to sit down and compare rule sets.

Interesting, it's close to QS.  It might have been easier to just say it's a 2nd edition QS.  Avoids confusion that way.  But then again QS was offered for free in the manuals while you have to pay $15 for AS.

Good changes all around and will make the game much faster to play and add utility to some of those pesky units nobody ever wants to play with in the game. I wonder how many units will have nearly identical stats by the end of the day?

One of the main reasons for the name change was to avoid confusion between the Quick Strike rules and the varios Quickstart rules, I believe. Also, the term Alpha Strike is very Battletech-y. O0

Makes sense, I always thought that that could be a little confusing to new or potential players.  Now if we can get updated PDF copies that all say Alpha Strike and remove Quick Strike it would be even better!
