Just bought The Hunt For Jardine, though the Touring the Stars kind of spoiled the ending.  ;)
I have spoken.

Touring the Stars told you what anyone would know who went through the Jihad sourcebooks anyway. It doesn't really explain fully how the Forgotten Worlds serial went. Only so many words, y'know.

Feel free to comment and rate the story and TtS, if you like. It helps signal boost.

Thanks Billy! I'm here now to tell you about the two new technologies we've found on Jardine! Based on the Word's examination of Clan tech, we're introducing two radical products.

First up is Oxy-Clean. This product will run through any heat sink system and clean out any buildup! That's right! A full coolant flush without the need to drain everything and start over!

Then we have Flexi-Seal. A more cost effective version of the Clan Harjel system, this plastic compound will seal up any gaps in your armor! Without you doing anything!

Disclaimer: Oxy-Clean - Do not take internally. Do not use near fire. Keep away from children under 12.
Disclaimer: Flexi-Seal - For External use only. Do not take internally. Do not use near fire. Keep away from children under 8.

We are excited to announce that the first part of the novel Forgotten Worlds, The Hunt for Jardine by Herbert Beas II has been released as a digital story.

https://books2read.com/BattleTechTheHuntforJardine?fbclid=IwAR0MGl2bxzRk3pc3LLWpAwPaLRjLfIrexSHo_T8aIVZXe0WwLudPbZ53_M8

"BURIED IN THE ASHES OF WAR… Freelance explorer and treasure hunter Dr. Brooklyn Stevens has made her career finding lost artifacts from Inner Sphere history, but during the waning days of the FedCom Civil War, a job offered by the academic organization known as Interstellar Expeditions affords her the chance to pursue the find of a lifetime: a missing planet, one lost in the ravages of the brutal Succession Wars.
But the world of Jardine did not only die in fire—it was erased from stellar maps entirely, and Brooke’s employer wants to know why.
She must hunt down the only known link to this forgotten world: a dangerous predator native to Jardine, whose initial discoverer was silenced under mysterious circumstances. Someone wants this planet to remain buried—and they will go to any lengths to ensure that Brooke’s quest to uncover the truth of Jardine’s disappearance ends in tragedy."

In conjunction with Forgotten Worlds, we are pleased to release Touring the Stars: Jardine.

"Once a world of vibrant forests and exotic wildlife, Jardine’s loss in the early Succession Wars nearly erased it entirely from the annals of history. Rediscovered on the eve of the Word of Blake Jihad, its centuries-long isolation revealed one of the greatest secrets in ComStar’s dark past: the Hidden Worlds! Scoured by its own Guardians, the birthworld of the Manei Domini now lies under the shroud of endless smoke, its ruins a mute testament to the legacy of its fallen masters."

Just finished TTS Jardine. Great work there, both from the flavour point of view and the optional rules for playing in a truly apocalyptic world. Plus I loved the added fluff about the "Hidden worlds conspiracy" at the start and the great adventure seeds. This may be my favourite TTS yet.

So TTS: Tangrez/Mayadi?

If I already own the original TacOps from the CGL store do I get these as an update to the original pdf or do I have to purchase them again?

Purchasers of the old edition will not receive these new volumes as updates. These are being treated as brand new books, and errata will be tracked for these now.

They could be written from the point of view of someone who lives there and then left.

Not that I really have a say in the matter, but I doubt that's happening any time soon. Anyone leaving, I mean. Even as of 3130, nobody knew where the last two of the Five were. (Though I *did* have plans back in the WizKids days...)

I'm not expecting it to happen either. I just had this image of a John/Jane Doe being found dead after an accident but when they try to ID the victim all they find is a draft document on a chip in their pocket - you've got documentary on a world but still no location for it  >:D

this is the last officialish thing i remember being said on the topic of TO errata

I should note that the effect of splitting the books on errata (i.e. not supporting the older books with errata releases) is solely a decision on my part: this isn't CGL determining to drive sales of the new book by purposefully ending errata support for the old version of TO.  I'm just too busy to keep up errata support for anything other than the latest works (and I'm barely handling that).  It's the same reason that TW and such used to have separate errata docs for both the 1st and the latest printings, and now only has support for the 1st, or why ASCE is supported while the old AS support has now stopped.  It's possible that this could change at some point in the future, however, when I have more time available.

oh yeah, and this

At the same time, it depends on what errata there is and how much free time I have.  Maybe I can support both versions.

so... maybe

Too bad April 1st is already past. Documents could be released that contain mostly redacted text except for a name or such here and there.
