(Answered) IO - Super-heavy split locations
« on: 05 February 2019, 09:44:27 »
The question of splitting locations for Super-heavy mechs was brought up here:
https://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php?topic=64201.0
(see below for the quote)

To this question, I would also like to request an additional clarification. The requirement for splitting items in standard mechs is anything which takes up 8 critical slots or more. However, on super-heavy mechs slots have double capacity. Does this mean that the requirement for splitting locations is still 8 critical slots (which in practice would be 4 slots on a super-heavy) or does the requirement similarly scale to 16 on super-heavy designs? For example, if the requirement scales to 16, an Arrow IV system at 15 critical slots would be eligible for splitting between locations on a standard sized mech, while on a super-heavy it would not be eligible.

Thanks

So if making a Super-Heavy mech, and putting in artillery pieces, can you do which of the following?

1) Split crits between 2 adjacent locations as you desire

or

2) Split crits between 2 adjacent locations once you run out of crits in the main location

The only thing I can find is in the tech manual pg 57

Thanks
