As for going underway, it's just the way it's set up, and I'm afraid to go onto the ships they now send reservists to, as that class is problematic in survivability.

My cat is just fine. He likes the end of my futon nearest the patio door. I'm putting up pictures of him each day at https://www.facebook.com/NigelTheExShelterCat

That's a handsome cat.

This is mine, he's called Ville.  Oddly the photo dates from just after all my stuff turned up from England, I see the original Judge Dredd
RPG behind me...and a lot of mess.  It's a lot tidier here now thankfully.

Well strictly speaking he's a country/farm cat.  We're not short of woodland, fields and other sundry
semi wild spaces around here.  So he's out and about a lot, and as best I can tell he's pretty successful
in hunting.  He's not brought anything in this year, fingers crossed he leaves his catches outdoors this
year.

He's also disturbingly quick for a cat of his size, though even he cannot catch a Hare.  Though that does
not stop him from trying, and you should see the size of those things here.....not small.

Stepping on half a dead mouse. >:(

Thanks for the present, kitty. I wish I wasn't talking from experience. Here's hoping he leaves the presents outside.  ;D

I will admit that this is one advantage to my cats being strictly indoor ones. Not a single one of them has brought me a rodent or bird, yet. They are pretty good at spotting roaches, though. Shame we can't let them kill the damned things themselves.

Dogs have brougt in presents, the occasional squirrel or one of the chickens that escaped from the coop next door and some how made it onto our side of the fence.

We use roach motels to keep 'em under control. Thus, there's a concern that any roach dumb enough that they manage to eat it would be because it was poisoned. I dunno if roach-killing poison is bad for cats, but we're not taking chances.

I need to stop by more often.

Gentlemen, the well wishes are much appreciated.  At 1506 on 10 June, my second son Gordon Arthur was born in the very same hospital room that his older brother was two years earlier.  I'd forgotten how small eight pounds, four ounces and only 19" of baby can be.  Mother, child, and oldest son are currently in various stages of napping.

Dan, I thought in the U.S. we'd call it being induced also but U.S. Army medicine's quirks are legion.
Congrats C6 on the new addition. When it comes to military medicine my mother has quite a few horror stories.

And congrats AW on the new job! GS glad to hear you made it through the gall bladder surgery. That's a rough one.

My own good news is 7 working days until I have my 20 years with the state. Won't get a pension until I'm 60, but <20 years, by so much as a day, means getting it at 65. I am so ready to get out of the place.

It was good timing, that is graduating two months before reaching the 20 year point, but fortuitous nonetheless. If I had stayed on track I would've graduated 2 years ago. I certainly would not have stuck around working for the state, two months on the other hand was a no brainer. When I was negotiating on one job offer the company rep said he probably wouldn't hire me if I didn't finish my 20 years. He said that in his opinion it would've shown very poor judgement to do otherwise.  ;D

I hope you don't read this until tomorrow and are having a great anniversary.

Our neighborhood had a children's parade this morning.  Other than that, we've been chasing the toddler and attempting to keep the newborn quiet.  At the moment I'm contemplating a stiff drink before my various neighbors roll out their fireworks.

Fireworks at the high school football stadium tonight.  Hopefully I'll run into folks I want to hang out with, not just sit here on the internet the whole time, lol.  Shouldn't be too hard, there's only around 6,000 people in this town and I know a high percentage of the ones that are likely to come out for fireworks.

I was in parade this morning for a congressional candidate, and tonight I went over by the hospital by the river for fireworks. One of the radio stations around here did a sound track for the show.

Grats on Anniversaries, and I hope you had a nice 4th July you colonial types you.

The weather has finally turned summery here again, so in true Rorke style I'm indoors
playing PC games.

Some of my CoH2 games lately though, have been true epics.  Pushed by the AI all the way
back to our base, looks like we're doomed.  There's tons of enemy armour coming at us, and
we're swamped.  Until I knock out a Russian IS2, but it's not destroyed.  There's the odd chance
when hitting a tank, that you only knock out the crew.  So I must have spalled the heck out of the
thing, so I run some engineers to it and re-crew.  Two minutes later I'm pushing back at them, and
then my partner in crime manages to also capture another IS2.  Love how a game can swing that
way.  Snatching victory from the jaws of defeat.

So, this isn't CBT relevant at all, but trolling the trolls is fun.  At least on certain other, rather loosely moderated forums I frequent.  Some people just don't respond well to being told that their opinion is immaterial if the facts disagree.
