Watching Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans with my son- I'm digging it.  8)
It has been discussed about before. Some BattleTech vibes, so we like that part of it. Also something about Gundam fans not liking it. But since I'm not a fan, it wasn't a problem for me ;D

And the space cowboy with a heavily armed space craft and all-female crew. Somebody here got to say it isn't a harem, even though characters themselves say they are :screw_loose:
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights errant, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.

...why would anyone say that's NOT a harem?

Bofuri 5: Maples casual use of Poison for problem solving keeps getting funnier. Especially now that she has a flying mount. But if all you have for offense is a Poison Hammer, everything starts to look like a Poison-Vulnerable nail, I suppose.

They must not understand what the word actually means.

Found the post. Aside from Weirdo being weirdo (I'm kidding, don't ban me!), he didn't even watch the thing.

When watching anime, I usually fast forward/skip through most of the usual tropes like teen angst, flirty relationships, and all that. I watch primarily for the battle sequences and the beats of the main plot.

Watching Angel Beats! for the first time yesterday.
GODFRAKKING, all the punches to emotion guts....
Episode 10 was the biggest punch to guts for me.....
Damnit I want to see Yiu and Hinata actually end up together like Otanashi and Angel did after reinarnating
Clan Blood Spirit - So Bad Ass as to require Orbital Bombardments to wipe us out....it is the only way to be sure!

  • I'm feeling a little sketchy...

Tokyo MX has cancelled its airings of controversial anime Interspecies Reviewers

And what are they airing instead?  A show about...

... boats.

Funimation has also pulled it off. Got boot from Wakanim too. Did it got too popular or what?

While I haven't watched the anime or looked at the manga, my understanding is the anime ratcheted up things from the manga and basically it's a step-down from soft core stuff.
Did FUNi do the right thing? Hard to say.

It  was apparently being posted uncensored on pornhub, so not really a step down.

In other anime, I started watching Uchitama. Very cute.

I don't know details, just that episodes were viewable there without censorship.

Based on the description, I don't understand why Funimation ever aired it in the first place.  Do they look at anything other than the title before choosing their anime?

Wow, just wow. Can't say I have EVER heard of a broadcast anime being posted on THAT site before.

It used to be the site to go to if you wanted to watch Hamilton.  I'm not kidding.

Aren't they the ones that also did some off-the-wall charity cases, like STEM scholarships and snowplows?

[Edit] Actually, wait, don't answer that. It occurs to me that I should be discouraging the discussion of products and services provided by a porn site on these forums. Let's move on to something else, please.

lol, true.

So how does Funimation pick their shows?  This just reeks of poor decision making.

With the way the simulcast streaming is these days, companies are in a mad dash to just license whatever they can get before it airs. Because of the constant seasonal cycle & the desire not to get sniped by another localizer, a lot of series are just being grabbed up from established business partners. Still, it strikes me as pretty daft to not have questioned the production staff about what they intended for the content at all.

I guess the question now is will it get a physical release or is it completely done.

I suspect it's done. Funimation will probably revert the license. Someone who does adult anime translations might take a crack at it.

so in Railgun news: I forgot how much of a badass kongo-san can be*, and her 2 friends ( i forget their names :( ) are by no means weak as well. I eagerly await next weeks episode.

Yeah,  I figured that Funimation was done with it, I was just wondering if production was actually going to continue or it was completely killed.

Nah, it's still airing/streaming on several channels in Japan. I feel the animators deliberately pushed the boundaries of broadcast on purpose for maximum marketing.

Certainly got people talking about it, though losing Funi might not go so well - there's got to be contract provisions of "if X becomes unairable, we get our licensing fees back" if they have any sense whatsoever.

Though...considering how the blu-rays tend to play up the more adult aspects (removing censor steam, for example) maybe they're gambling on the show being controversial enough that the NEETs will gobble up the discs.

Speaking of blu-ray, less than three weeks until Girls und Panzer Finale 2....and probably three years until Finale 3...

To be fair to Funimation, the manga it's based on is certainly on the echi side of things, but not out of the realm of other stuff they've aired. The anime added stuff, and ramped it up considerably.

The pull (on Funi as the first Sony network) came the day after the BD contents were announced. In case you're wondering, for the full monty the NEETs will be paying 50,000 yen roundabout. 3 BDs plus the figurine, OST and manga from the LE first BD.
