It looks like you're going to have a lot of text in this, so I'd suggest brushing up on some basic typography principles. That will make your game look even better, an help with readability.

Adjusting the font and positioning can go a long way to making your stuff look really crisp.  O0

I really like it. Has a lot of potential, especially due to the very simple nature, which is a good thing.

I really like the design of the Black Knight, reminds me of something... angelic?

Suggestion:

Flamers same as MG but add -1 Maneuver if hit for 1 turn? Counterable with a Coolant Pod card? Which would take up a weapon slot.

Problematic in how it interacts with other devices.

Examples: Would a "Capacitor Array" boost its damage? Would "Armor-Piercing Ammunition" prevent your opponent from reducing its damage? If not, how do you specify that in the space available for a weapon card?

Also, if you hit someone with 6 flamers, do they lose six maneuvers? If not, how do you specify that in the space available for a weapon card?

Hrm. A follow-up thought:

I think a Flamer might work, with the following rules:

Flamer
Energy Weapon

Damage: 0
Range: Contact/Short

This weapon's damage may not be increased.

When this weapon hits, if your opponent has played fewer Maneuvers than your Energy weapon skill, they must immediately place a maneuver card from their hand face-down as if it were a Basic Move.

That's actually worse; the problem is that it's too powerful - giving the player the choice of which to use means they can always choose the more powerful option.

Losing maneuvers is fine, but there has to be an enforced cap on how many maneuvers are lost, otherwise 5+ flamers becomes an automatic shutdown for any 'mech (and mounting 5 flamers is easy).

Ok; now there's a flamethrower. :)

I eventually decided against Battletech-style "overheat and shutdown" rules for the Flamethrower; instead I made it something like an LB-X crit-seeker that spreads damage all over the target, but only if the target is already damaged.
