So I was looking at the Typical Marik Mechs thread and it dawned on me that my collection has a VERY Marik feel to it.  Like, to the point that I'm wondering if it was a subconscious reaction towards my hatred of Laio to the end that I built a force to hit Laio from the other side.  Is there a decent Marik unit that doesn't use purple?

Most don't.  Just like most Kurita regiments don't use red.  Stay away from the Marik Militia and Free Worlds Guards/Legionnaires and you pretty much don't have to worry about purple.

I thought it was "Aye"?

I miss the Goshen Review as well.  In that same stream, has anyone seen or heard from Foxbat lately?  It's not right talking about Goshen without remembering his canonization of the scheme.

Hi all,
I have been a FedSuns fan since I started playing in 2014. Didn't realize that the page was in Mechwarrior Hall not IS General until today. What do you older fans think of Julian Davion's tenure as First Prince? How long until we reclaim our territory from the Snakes?

I call him Robogigavictor for a reason. Well...up until recently I just called him Gigavictor before . Julian and Victor both lack....passion in ruling anything. They're not happy to be in their position and do the bare minimum until they can escape and live the life they want to live. For example, how easy would it be for Victor to head off much of the Civil War by saying "Hey, I'm home. Thanks for stepping in. Now go back to Tharkad." Julian is cast very much in the same mold. It didn't help that Splinter of Hope ended on a Squash Match. Squash Matches are meant to kill momentum and reputation and that's exactly what that one did.

Julian seems to have done a decent job of stabilizing the Federated Suns so far. Things have gone a lot better with him in charge. I hope IlClan gives him a chance to remove the Kurita's from the Crucis March and begin making some reforms. Do you people think that the alliance with the Republic is a good idea or should Julian abandon it going forward?

Orloff Grenadiers use a very simple 2 tone green pattern.

One of my side projects has a lance of them in mid painting right now.

It’s too bad the Goshen Review doesn’t exist anymore.  I want to write something about how the Light Combat Team System resembles (and contrasts with) the Roman Empire’s shift from Legions to Vexillations as the primary administrative unit during the late third century.

Wait, really?  I know MDM was busy becoming the Coffee King of the Midwest and Geoff was busy in his lab doing Mad Scientist things, but I wasn't aware that they'd dropped the game.

What about Foxbat?  Is he still painting?

Well, our new gaming/dining room table arrived today and we christened it with a game of Battletech out of the older Introductory Box Set.

Pretty sure Geoff is doing some writing for CBT off and on.  I see him post things about that periodically on the book of faces.

Ha, that explains so much...

Geoff Swift was writing the Combat Manuals (including the as yet unreleased Davion).
He’s doing/has done several Turning Points and at least one Spotlight.

Thank you, my friend.  The company that made it is Bandpass Design and this a modified (larger) version of their Dresden table.  Bandpass consists of a few former craftsmen from Geek Chic.  My wife agreed on the table so long as it doubles as a dining table.

I was hoping to have the new Beginners Box Set on the table but no such luck.

3CL was giving away most of his BT miniatures to the Chicagoland players at Games Plus back in... 2010-ish? I know, as I got a couple of them directly from him. I figured that he was done with BT and wanted out. Hence the give away...

Ahhh, the good old days of Yore with the Review.  I still have a couple of drafts of articles that I had started before AFFSHC.Net shut down.

We did have a bit of fun with that at the time.  I do recall getting involved with Jonathan (MDM), Ben Rome (Ghostbear), Ed (3CL), Geoff (97Jedi), and Chris (TeamNutmeg) back in the day on the RP Boards.  It might have been when MDM was running his RP thread.  Too hazy to recall.  That musta been around 2001 or so as I was still in the military back then writing and responding to posts whenever I could while I was deployed.

Then the Gencons of 2004, 2005, and 2006 where we had Team Davion running amok at the canon events and just having a good time in general hanging out and getting to know everyone in person that we chatted with on this forum on a daily basis.

My how times have changed.  I stopped playing due to lack of time around 2008.  Teenagers and long commutes to work will do that.  And the Dark Age was a turn off with no real solution in sight at the time.  The forums rebooting was another hole in the dam. The perfect storm for loss of interest.  Still have the bulk of my minis and books but I stopped buying when the DA came out and am very far behind on the books.

Teenagers are in their twenties and I quit my job and moved overseas about four years ago.  Playing it by ear on how long I'll stay here but there is a distinct lack of Tabletop gaming in the Middle East.  And the wifi situation is shady at best for any online gaming like MegaMek or the new stuff that has recently been released.

Making the attempt to get back into it but don't know where to begin picking up where I left off in 3067 and Endgame.

Cheers All!!
