Jammy. The people where I work tend to do nothing either, although that's usually when my back is turned.  >:(
Delivered from the blast,
Last of a line of lasts,
The pale princess of a palace cracked.
And now the kingdom comes;
crashing down undone,
And I am a master of a nothing place,
Of recoil and grace.

Some people are just annoyingly omni present sometimes.  Ricky Gervais for example, who in my humble opinion is not that funny.

But then i never cared much for The Office (the original UK one), as i don't enjoy humour based on cringe worthy situations.

I feel the same about Mr Gervais - nothing malign but just not all that amusing in a lot of what he does/has done

I do, but I've always felt the UK Office took it a touch too far, and hit that button too frequently. You gotta mix it up more, which is something the US version really improved upon.

3CL if you are still working at the same old place, good job. The Thought of pulling one on a bunch of Lawyers and using an alias just tickles me pink.  [applause]

I got reassigned at work today.  I'm no longer doing odd jobs on the boat; I'm over at an odd little detachment sandblasting and powder coating lockers.  On the plus side, I'm sure to leave a bit earlier most days.  On the down side, I'm working with a moron, and I'm quite sure it's because I pissed my boss off recently.

Nicely played 3CL!
I on the other hand just picked up an additional job, kinda--maybe more of an additional task-- anyways, at the apartment complex I work for baby sitting college kids, I am now helping maintenance do odd jobs after my Library gig.  Which I cannot get away with doing nothing.  Today I scrubbed paint off the trim and bedroom doors for 4 hours. Worst painters ever.
It also made for a rather shitty day.

I did get to meet the author of "A Sword Edged Blonde" tonight at the book-club meeting. Pretty cool guy and they had awesome cup-cakes, so the day improved slightly.

It's probably just as well, I've heard that the cake is a lie anyway.

The cake might be a lie, but cupcakes are the gospel truth. And so delicious. And so not share-able.

These cups cakes are from a local place that has a reputation for excellent cup-cakes.  And it is well earned. They were delicious.

I just found out that my Ex's mother was found in her bathtub with a broken neck.  Not really sure how to feel about this right now, but could use some advice if anyone has any.

Well, if you two are just casual acquaintances now, I would keep my distance. Exes represent a lot of things to people.

This is very true.  I believe, given the circumstances, that keeping my distance in the matter and perhaps only sending my condolences to my ex-FiL would be the best course of action.

I posted a thread on the original a while back.  Thanks for the update.  Though if it happens, (still a big if)  Captain Tightpants is going to need to lose a few.  He was looking "Shatner at the end of Season 2" big at the end of Monday's Castle.  Not grotesque, but not as slim and trim as he once was.

Let me play advocatus diaboli a moment.  Suppose in 1972 one of the Big Three came to its senses and realized that there was still money to be made in the Star Trek franchise.  Rather than a Saturday morning cartoon, they put together the money to bring back Shatner, Nimoy and all the rest, and they put another two or three seasons on television.  How would that have worked out?

Imagine the first movie reduced to an hour's length, repeated endlessly for three seasons. The inherent awfulness of late-period TOS-derived films is directly proportional to the level of Rodenberry's involvement. So it would have been dreadful hippie pablum.

A greater threat is the increased probability that David Gerrold would be involved again. *shudder*

No, the best chance is that a season one writers revolt would have occured as it did with TNG and we could move on with Roddenberry in a very loose oversight position making sure no one slips something as stupid as Section 13 into the universe while cranking out better episodes than "How are we going to kill god/destroy Eden/muddle with this anachronistic society of the week"

Gentlemen, if you aim to play Megamek in the near future, please say so in this space.  I neither tweet, nor text, nor face the book, and I wouldn't want to be left out.  My thanks.
