Wizard Van?
« on: 23 November 2018, 16:11:49 »
So I'm fairly good at painting the details that are on a mini, and consider myself decent at doing free stripes or camo patterns, but this next project puts me well out of my comfort zone. I've just picked up a Matchbox van for Gaslands gaming, and want to paint it up in the same style as those airbrushed vans from the 70s, with a wizard on each side(bonus points if he's riding a unicorn) with his staff extending forward all the way to the van's front, where actual lightning bits will be emanating.

Any advice, aside from telling me to put the beer down?

Pick a single color to do it. 2 tops.

A tootpick might be a better brush than an actual brush.

Or a marker. I use markers for this kind of drawing. it works well. Dunno how you call them, but they are called "un-eraseable markers" or "permanent markers" here in Spain (literal translation from Spanish).

Oh, and practice in a sheet of paper before trying it on the van.

For that size try using Testers decal paper and debacle sealer.
Find the image you want on the net then using the decal paper print it with you ink jet printer.

Paint it up like the A-Team van. Less heart ache and stress in the end

I had just saw this from another how-to video and immediately thought of this post.
