Letting the few folks who use infantry know, the platoons that use some of the more powerful weapons have been revised, with updated sheets find in this post: https://bg.battletech.com/forums/errata/errata-discussion-thread/msg131307/#msg131307

The older sheets for those platoons found in RS: 3085 are no longer legal. This includes the Hell's Horses hover cavalry Points.

All set for Battletech card game on Sunday.  I'll be at GenX at noon to go over how to play and we'll get started about 1.

Yup, Gaslands on the 12th! Is anyone else bringing the cards? I've never played and have no materials. I'll probably bring my AS stuff just in case, unless someone would like to play X-Wing as a backup.

Good to know about the infantry, though I don't remember the original stats well enough to make most of a difference probably.

I think you're basically losing a couple points of damage overall, but gaining 1d6 whenever you shoot other conventional infantry.

Well, for gas lands there are some issues I didn’t think of. 1. We are gonna need cars. 2.we need templates.

I can provide a map and blank record sheets easy enough, along with books. But the other two are gonna depend on someone else, mostly if weirdo can make it or not :o

Otherwise: I also would like to beta test some alpha strike tournament rules, or maybe something else….

I got templates and such, and I think one of the new guys does as well. Cars are no issue. Not all of mine are customized but I got it covered. I would say that the biggest thing, if Weirdo can't make it, is the terrain (gates, barriers, even buildings) that makes a death race work.

I'm confident we can cover everything though.

Well, I have a some stuff. My star port terrain for legion would probably be fine. I think I’ve got enough to cover my mat.

What'd you have in mind?

I’d need to workout point values and scenarios, but I’ve got a rough idea for a fairly balanced tournament rule set…or so I hope. I’m basically cribbing from tournament packets from other games I’ve played over the years, at least the ones the ones that were balanced xp I’ve got some ideas what to include that would give a players a set of symmetrical and asymmetrical scenarios to be played out on two map sheets during an hour/hour and a half match.

I'm interested, provided it allows for full combined-arms forces at all times should a player want to go that route.

I won't be able to make it today.

Gaslands: I do have movement templates, tokens and dice.  I also have the vehicles but only 1 is customized.

Future AS tourney sounds great!

Of course. Like any good rule set, I’d prefer to be able to keep the amount of banned/restricted stuff to a minimum.

I was thinking of the following caps on stuff to try to retain balance, while allowing players to field plenty of options: 1. Cap on number of artillery. 2. Have to have at least one on-map unit. 3. Limit of five units of any single type(battle armor counts as one unit per squad, not per suit)

3. Limit of five units of any single type(battle armor counts as one unit per squad, not per suit)

That's what I get for late night phone posting...but to clarify this: I mean 5 of a particular chassis. So for example: you have 5 Atlas mechs of any variant, five points of elementals or five demolishers.

I put five off the top of my head because of proto mechs, but now that I think about it, they are treated as one unit card for AS...so we could limit it to four of a chassis and that would be fine I think...

As far as Gaslands goes, what do you guys usually play as a base points level and car total? Lets just go with that this upcoming Sunday.

Protos have individual cards.

Protos have individual cards.

Wait, did they change that? Or did they actually just clean up the writing from first edition so it’s actually clear and concise now? xp

They changed it. Quite a long time ago, too, sometime well before ASCE came out.

How's this size of gates for gaslands?  Bigger, smaller? I'll throw a few more together as I have time this week.

I'd make it a brick or two higher, that should be plenty, I think.

So, we all ok with 50 Cans as our build limit? and are we gonna be book only, or all official material?

50 cans is the default. And as far as I know, all official material was consolidated into Gaslands: Refueled. Can't think of anything else.

I've got the track laid out. I will bring several cars as well.

When it comes to the scenario... I know 50 is the usual but it seems like we maybe get through half the race before we have to clean up. Not to mention the start is always a cluster of epic proportions. The track is also going to be tight, if my estimates of the map photo is correct. So I was thinking 35 points on a single vehicle of your choice, with an alternate if you want to switch cars when you respawn. Especially if we have half a dozen people playing I think it'll help clean the game up a bit.

I know man, but still! Okay, putting together some pre-mades for others. 35 cans, let's do 35 cans. That way you can supe up your rides a bit to compensate for having one vehicle at a time
