Jellico usually handles our DropShip of the week reviews. I would suggest dropping him a PM as I don't know if he reads this thread.

Non-combat units like transport vehicles tend to draw very few comments- so a lot of work for an article that no one reads. Probably not going to happen, honestly. I get requests like that every so often, and it's one of those things that seems good to the requester, and absolutely no one else. Pity, because they can be just as interesting as a line tank or something combat-oriented like that, but just don't gather enough attention for the work needed.
Anything that can actually haul a company of BA needs it's own article.

Also are/how are they affected by the errata that gives WiGE floatation hulls?

Definitely better for amphibious operations than hovertanks & hover APCs.

How is a WiGE that's already amphibious affected by an errata that gives all WiGEs flotation hulls? About as much as that law kicking around requiring that all humans contain DNA.

The request is appreciated, but I still do not plan to cover it at this time. Thank you. If that changes you'll know when the article is posted.

Because the designs in question are Support Vehicles, not Combat Vehicles, so instead of Floatation Hull they'd probably get the Amphibious Chassis and Controls Modification. Now these vehicles already HAVE that so it's no too big an issue, unless it no longer eats up tonnage

With this thread being for schedule notes for VotW and NOT for arguing minutiae of rules, I'm going to ask that you take the discussion somewhere else, such as the ground combat forum. Then again, you already know all that.

I may have also asked for the Pollux ADA. Wouldn't hurt to do a combo and compare with the Partisan?

My intention was to compare the MHI Defense to the Partisan and Aesir to highlight how they each fill a niche for air defense.

Delaying VotW until tomorrow due to my computer eating part of the article (ARGH), bring extra RAC ammo and meet me here on Monday.

For the list - Huey (although I'm still interested in an "artillery vee" omnibus article), and Fox armoured car.
* No, FASA wasn't big on errata - ColBosch
* The Housebook series is from the 80's and is the foundation of Btech, the 80's heart wrapped in heavy metal that beats to this day - Sigma
* To sum it up: FASAnomics: By Cthulhu, for Cthulhu - Moonsword
* Because Battletech is a conspiracy by Habsburg & Bourbon pretenders - MadCapellan
* The Hellbringer is cool, either way. It's not cool because it's bad, it's cool because it's bad with balls - Nightsky

That artillery article isn't done, but it IS in progress. Stay tuned- not REAL soon, but... eventually.

If so, I would like to learn more about the Fulcrum Heavy Hovertank.

Oh please no...

I don't know if i'd have any new insights in that article.  It would be a list of how things didn't work out.  I skipped the Bardiche article for exactly that reason.  I could do a song and dance to try and upsell the Skanda, but people would see right through it.

I'll mark the Fulcrum down, but guys I'll put it here again:

PLEASE PM ME YOUR REQUESTS!!!

I check my PMs regularly as part of the mod job here- and I get an e-mail when I get a PM that I can use as a reminder. If something comes in here, I may or may not see it in a timely fashion. So... any requests in here as of right now, I think I have on my list, but really- if you want me to cover something, SEND IT TO ME. (This also keeps people from being annoyed if I cover a request more recent than theirs- I don't go in any kind of order, which is by design)

Thank you, sorry for being a jerk but I keep asking for this by PM and it keeps not happening.

Yeah, Clancy Brown.  He also did the voice of Lex Luthor, was the drill sergeant in Starship Troopers, the head guard in Shawkshank Redemption and the VA for Chevy truck commercials.  He gets around.

Clearly, a man of his stature requires no less than a howdah. :)

But we digress. Howdahs are not conventional vehicles, they are DropShips. Let us stick to such.

Keeps hitting F5...

Hellbie, where's my VotW fix?

After last week's repeated disasters, culminating in finding that a spelling mishap kept me from seeing the existing article... honestly I didn't test a damned thing this week. Every time I started on something I just kept asking myself 'why bother, this is going to suck just as badly as the rest have.'

Maybe next week. At this point I'm not sure continuing this column is a good idea, at least with me at the helm. I'm not doing too great at it lately. If other people want a crack at the helm, they're probably better choices for it than I am. (Mr. Burns' room of monkeys writing Shakespeare might be a better option, really)

I'll try to get something cobbled together and see if I can get something done this week. At this point, no idea.

Don't make me come out there and shackle you to the keyboard. Your articles are excellent and even when you accidentally doubled up, it was a good article.

An FYI, article may be delayed a day due to a full weekend. I'll try to get it done on Sunday if I can, but Monday afternoon is more likely.

Give you a hint though... it's a support-sized vehicle, it's been requested by four different people, and it's going to be a lot of fun.

Due to my attending RomeCon this weekend (you don't know about RomeCon? It's hanging around with GhostBear, Greatsarcasmo, Redshirt, etc. and getting in gaming, Brickfair, a trip to the Udvar-Hazy aviation museum, etc.- didn't you get your invite?), VotW is on hold this weekend. I'll not have time to work on it until probably Monday, but being the Bandit and having a zillion configurations, it may be Tuesday before it gets posted. I'd apologize, but since I'll be spending my Sunday in front of a Concorde instead... stuff it, dear readers.  }:)
