Appearance of the Riga II?
« on: 05 April 2017, 10:13:33 »
Field Report 2765: Periphery is in a state of flux right now until errata is released. Among other things, the art associated with the Essex I destroyer is actually the old Vincent art from TRO 2750, when presumably the 2750 Essex art was meant to be used.

With that in mind, is it correct that the art associated with the Riga II Destroyer/Carrier is the Riga I frigate, instead of the York Destroyer/Carrier, a direct refit of the Riga II that is essentially identical to its older incarnation in every way save the addition of a few Clantech widgets(read: an irrelevant battery of conventional guns) and expanded hangar bays? I'm asking due to a desire to paint up a Star League fast line division, and need to know which miniatures to use for my Riga IIs.
Pleasesayyorkpleasesayyorkpleasesayyork...

Thanks!

I cannot give you a definitive answer at this time, but I can say that if you use the York miniature for the Riga II, it would not be incorrect. Best I can explain is:

All Riga I's look like this.
All Yorks look like this.
Some, perhaps all Riga IIs look like this.
It's possible some Riga IIs look like this.

So, the same principle as for all the SLDF ships with 2750 and 3057 art. Works for me, thanks!

There's probably no real answer to this, but I gotta ask anyway. Would you happen to have any idea where those ships were built, so we might have some idea what color the Star League painted them in?
