This is the poll to determine the top three Vehicle / ProtoMech / Mech Scale Fighter that will get threads opened to be financed. You have two votes per user (since only 8 options) and you can change your vote. The poll will be open for 21 days.
-
nevermimd I can't read thread titles apparently
-
This poll is a tight race.

Wow, the Tribune not getting anywhere near the votes I would have guessed. :'(

No kidding. Just like the Mech poll, the boring direct combat stuff is winning.
Oh well. At least it means i don't have to set any money aside for this. Maybe next year.
-
I am hoping for the Pixiu Heavy Tank, as it will go very well with the Raven II and Crusader 8L that I am planning on buying.
-
Next year, I'm gonna suggest the Moray.
-
I was really hoping we would have gotten the Defender as a choice. We need a warship on occasion don't we? :D
-

Same... ???
-
Tribune
Swallow
These two are not feeling the love I thought they would as someone above already stated. :(
-
I'm morally obligated to vote for the Hippogrif since Protomechs need more love. But the Tribune gets second place for being something unusual and full of possibilities.
-
If I was to vote on looks alone, I'd likely have voted for the Tribune. As it stands though I had to vote with what I'd likely use on the table and I doubt I'd ever get around to using the Tribune.

We might do something for Warships coming soon :)

Yeah, a guy in my home group brought that up. When playing a campaign we see them more often...but almost never in our little pick-up games.

Really? Nobody can think of a use for an initiative bonus?
-
This poll is a tight race.
the fact that the Zibler and Hippoigrif have been trading top spots in the poll has made me question what universe we are in.
also I am REALLY lamenting the fact the R10 ICV didn't even get a Nod to get this far. what is wrong with us?

I can think of use for it, but again, I'd have to have a game I would be allowed to get full benefits out of it. That doesn't come up that often unless I'm running the game.

I'm surprise the Hippogriff has as many votes as it does simply based on the fact that the reputation of protomechs isn't held highly by many players. I'm not all that surprised about the Zibler though since it is decent omni hover that I'd have figured would have had a mini already.
-
That's why I'll never vote for a unit like that in these polls. A unit like the Zibler is pretty much guaranteed to get a mini made eventually simply because it's such a vanilla basic combat unit. For me, Fan Funding is about getting units made that otherwise might not EVER get a mini.

Currently the only way vehicles are being done is through Fan Funding. They simply do not sell enough (like mechs do) to do as a Distro release. Same for all of the none mech units. So Fan Funding is what allows them to be created so that players can use actual miniatures of them in games.
-
I knew all the interesting stuff had been moved to online-only, but I didn't know they also relied solely on Fan Funding. That's the most depressing thing I've read thus far today...and I've already checked the news.
-
3067 was the last TRO to get full vee support on the minis side. 3075 under half (12/29), 3085 just over half (18/34). Prototypes saw three minis (Aithon, Nuberu, Rommel Howitzer). 3145/50 is currently at 12 of 56.
if one wants "interesting" units, one will probably have to forward the entire funding amount independently ($500 for vees?)

I'd try to help you, but I can't vote for the Zibler less than I already am, nor can I vote for the Tribune more.

That is most unfortunate. I love using vehicles, battlesuits, conventional infantry, aerospace, etc. in my games. Pretty much in every game, even given the fact that we now play with an entirely revised version of battletech rules. I also enjoy the actual minis themselves as they are usually more unique in design than many of the mechs. As such I was looking forward to and expecting more broad releases of the non-mech units not yet given shape from the most recent TROs.
I guess the majority of players don't play with them since the almighty sales figures never lie. Oh well.

Oh that's good to hear!

I just want more mech scale fighters. There are so many cool aerofighters out there, and the centurion and the Hellcat especially would be a start (let alone all the cool 3145 fighters that haven't made any lists). Looking at the pole results i'm not super hopeful though :-[

Add the conventional fighters from TRO3039 and i agree. ;)

I need to be on top of these posts. I am too late, and I appreciate that you put this up to vote. Thank you for keeping fan financing going.
-
Speck, since it was tied for 3rd, is the Tribune being considered for fan funding? I'd do $50.

Most likely. Working on getting a variety of in process item done before opening another funding thread.
-
Hope some day the Narukami NK-1C will see light of day.
-
If you wait until mid or late May, odds are better that I'll be able to jump in on the Tribune.
-
I will be eagerly awaiting the Pixiu Heavy Tank funding thread.

Is there any chance at all that the mech scale Centurion and Hellcat will make it onto anyone's sculpting list? The victors of this pole can hardly be called the definitive winners. And given the fairly even distribution of votes cast it looks like you'll get some funding interest (myself included). It's just been far too long since we got anything aero-related in the form of a mech scale fighter or warship.
-
I’d throw money at the centurion and hellcat. I need a pair of each to round out my mercenary force’s aerospace unit

If you are willing to fund it yourself, or can organize full funding, PM speck. Things have been done that weren't poll-based, but it is up to IWM if/when they choose to put the time towards those projects. None of these are going to be money-makers for IWM, and will take some time away from other work in the shop, which is part of why the number of projects is limited, even if the funding is there.

This is what we were voting on in the first place, no? My impression is that we voted on what projects would be opened for fan funding (I have no idea when that will take place since this pole was for 2018, and we haven't seen any of them opened yet despite being mid way through 2019), this process would seem fairly meaningless if they were easily ignored by a personal PM to speck. Hence why I was asking publicly if any of the near-winners might see funding options available.

New Funding is on hold until queue is cleared up. It’s getting there but some got behind due to sculptor having to get a distro release done first. Hope to have updates soon.
