Timber Wolf painted in TRO 3050 cover art
« on: 26 March 2017, 16:43:57 »
Back to the forums! A month ago I painted one of my Ral Partha Timber Wolves for a contest. I decided since the subject was around old designs ver. new designs, I'd do a tribute to the old TRO 3050 cover art. I kinda got the idea from seeing Hauptmann Fanjoy's "Spirit of 3050", another Timber Wolf painted after the artwork as well.
This was a rather challenging paint job, giving me a real lesson on patience and balance. That said, it was a lot of fun to do! It also helps to have battletech inspired music or videos in the background as well ;D. Afterwards, I had a little fun with a photo editing app (really nothing special).

So sweet!  You really captured it nicely!  And a great job with the background, I should add.  I aspire to one day do one in the style of the 1990 compendium cover (another iconic CGB madcat).

Nicely done Vash! The lighting and background look spot on and I really like the cockpit Jeweling!

Nice one.

Thanks! Also,I really want to see you paint a Timber Wolf up like that compendium art!

As for the terrain, it was all my old hills I made out of pink-foam, atop a giant bulletin board with rocks strewn over it, and blue paper towels for the sky ;D
