Title: Viking 2G - 6th Army Comstar
Post by: rafale56 on 19 November 2011, 22:19:43
A kitbash showing that powerful variant of the Viking, parts are from a Berserker and some mods/sculpts of others parts..

Known Variants
Grumium has produced one variant of the Viking, popular with the Third Hussars. An unusual variant, practically a new design, it replaces all of the standard weaponry with a large pulse laser in the right arm and three medium pulse lasers in the left. A Gauss Rifle rests in the right torso and an LB 10-X autocannon sits in the left, each with two tons of ammunition. The variant, dubbed the 2G, retains the CASE systems and adds two tons of armor, a Guardian ECM Suite and two double heat sinks.

I guess I told you so in French at Babord this year, eh eh... To say it in English now, it's awesome! Terrific job, Serge!

Well, if you mean how to get that white, first i went with a light grey undercoat, then i applied white colour in many wet touches, mixed with a Mate Medium (Prince August Medium Mat to be precised)..
After that, using a very small brush, usually a 10/00, i went through the lines with a diluted black once again mixed with that very same medium.

It's a very long process and i must say the pic made it appear a bit darker but that's worth the result ;)

Hope that helps..

I love the lighting in the photo.  Really makes it look like its standing in a strong summer California sun.  Is this a photoshop tweak?

Only a nice French Spring Day( I've took this pic in April IIRC) where sunlight was sweet enough for a picture ;)
