Hey gang,
We've (Stormrider and I) been busy brainstorming and destroying units for the last few weeks. I've managed to survive another Outreach-ian mini-campaign and have coalesced a unit of misfits, scoundrels, partying cat-girls and hulking brutes together into the Outreach Irregulars. We like to kill WoBbies for breakfast, lunch and dinner. :D :)) :thumbsup:

Yeah Snakespinner I somehow managed to pull a bunch of furry marsupials outta my backside, lol.
We did another mini-camp involving Outreach. I purposely started with only a lance of 3050's hardware on Solaris during the riots and escaped with just a weaponless-5S Banshee. Landed on Outreach with a fmr kuritan Sunder jock and her "Baby". We hired out and got into Keid with a few other mercs to raid the Kallon warehouses and only lost one lance. We did manage to complete the job with a minimum of collateral damage. It was nice see-ing all 4 warehouses burning brightly in the midst of a raging thundersnow blizzard. That was cool. What wasn't cool was the overwhelming amount of security forces deployed around and in the warehouse's. That sucked. We lost the one lance to basically having a warehouse go up next to it. (Bad positioning on my part).
I'm working on doing some loose rp-ing and rolls to scrounge up more bodies and equipment to move to the next event.

I had a game like that once. i was told warehouse had nothing important in it, so i used it for cover.
Nothing meant SRM ammo, there went my company.

After being shot out of the Banshee during the beginning of "Condition Feral" I managed to utilize a -2 Devastator that had belonged to a Lt. Col. (Ty "Timex" Allen) from the 51st Dark Panzer Jaegers. After scrapping out the cockpit and refitting said cockpit I discovered that this particular 'Mech had some shiny new toys installed courtesy of their employers - the WoBblies. (More on that later though)
The Irregulars managed to evacuate from Outreach before the second battle of Outreach kicked off. See below for more info.
We got as far as Galatea to rest, repair and recruit some "fine, upstanding citizenry" to be able to field a mixed company of equipment and proceeded to hire on with Interstellar Expeditions as a troubleshooting / rapid reaction / security force for their important sites while being able to negotiate some side contracts as needed.
Now I know that some will criticize the fact that I've acquired some shiny toys but I've busted my ass to win these fights as it happens. If Stormrider didn't know the risk's of me winning some of the battles then he'd probably made them easier. But he still has some of Tt's nasty surprises on deck for me to face.

Heya TT, What Dk69 don't know won't kill him too badly.
Now I know that some will criticize the fact that I've acquired some shiny toys but I've busted my ass to win these fights as it happens. A little revised unit info:
The 1st Outreach Irregulars were formed on Outreach in the summer of 3067. After running a couple of minor raids (the first being the Kallon Keid retaliation raid) they were caught up in the in the messy fight for Outreach when Waco's Rangers and co. launched their assault for the planet. The Irregulars assisted the Dragoons with the "Condition Feral" protocol and managed to rescue a Blackwell Ind. V.P. on the side, safely escorting his hover-limo to relative safety. After dust-off on an outbound dropship, D. Callaghan ran into an I.E. recruiter and took her up on her previous contract offer.
"The Irregulars next stop was the planet Styk in the Capellan Confederation. The raid on the Tao 'Mechworks went off with a couple of issues. First was the Tao 'Mechworks Security Forces springing a badly executed ambush on us, We were able to survive it by over-running their positions and they scattered easily. The next was the CCAF's Syn's Hussars. They actually did some damage to the Irregulars in an effective roadblock that slowed up the unit as we were making our way back to the ship. We took a lot of damage - namely my Devastator was cored - but no one died. I'll have to scrounge a ride from somewhere if I want to play with rest of the kids." Excerpt from personal log: D. J. The Irregulars were sent to Acamar in the Fed Suns to babysit a Contard Mining property in the sticks for a bit of short term garrison work. It was hardly cushy though because some pirates going by the name of the Lafayette Legion came to raid the planet, specifically the Contard Mining property. It was because of a covert davion MIIO operation in co-operation with Interstellar Expeditions had recently un-earthed some interesting Star League era computer intelligence cores and equipment. The Irregulars would later discover through interrogating the 5 surviving L.L. 'mechjocks that the Word was behind the L.L. raid/recon mission. The Word wanted any and all of the find but came up empty-handed. So the WoB militia troops decided to wipe out a few villages as a "abject lesson to all of those who assist the heretics". This happened as the Irregulars were boosting to a waiting jumpship.
"We got away from Acamar feeling pretty good about ourselves until we rendevous'd with an outbound jumpship and watched in stunning detail the WoBM 's shitty vengence on some unfortunate villages in Acamar's hinterlands because we foiled their raid. By the higher powers if we ever encounter any WoBM forces I don't know if I'll be able to control the unit let alone myself. It's gonna come to a reckon-ning between us and the robes one day. I.E. loaned the Outreach Irregulars to the D.C.M.S. to assist the evacuation of Ninyu Kerai-Indrahar, the severely injured head of the I.S.F. They were dropped into the Scales of the Dragonet Mountains, where Kerai-Indrahar's convoy was taking a secret route to a secure DropPort. It soon became apparent that the route was not as secret as the D.C.M.S. hoped. Elements from the W.o.B.M.'s Eighth Division were detected in pursuit, leaving the Irregulars scant time to prepare a defense.
Callaghan led his 'Mechs in a series of stalling actions to buy time for his armor to setup a position at a narrow pass ahead of them. A supporting platoon of Kage battle armor proved decisive, giving the defense enough firepower to dissuade the WoBblies from trying to break through the pass. Once the convoy had a large enough lead, the Irregulars then charged the WoBblies with almost reckless abandon forcing the Blakists to pull back a few klicks while the convoy safely reached the DropPort. Once there they turned over defense of Kerai-Indrahar to the D.C.M.S. and made their own way off-world.
The Blakist Eight wasn't content to let Kerai-Indrahar get away. Their aerospace forces attempted to intercept the Condor-class dropper carrying Kerai-Indrahar off-world. The Irregulars' Dropship, the Calypso IV, was in a position to assist the defense, and their I.E. liaison encouraged the unit to do so. After driving off the Blakist fighters, they were commended for "volunteering" to assist the D.C.M.S. a second time and were rewarded with some decent military equipment.

That being said (see above response for more clues :rant: :bang:) ...
I find myself with an interesting dilemma at the moment. I have more spare stuff than bodies to put into things. I'm working on a current salvage list at the moment while the Irregulars travel to Solaris 7 to work another I.E. contract.

Umm, For the record I have to sometimes lessen the lethality of Tt's suggested opposing forces to ensure at least some chance of survival of the current unit Dk69 is running. Tt really does have a sick and twisted mind when it comes to idea's for Op For -> really sick and twisted. Truetanker - Do you currently visit on a regular basis a member of the Health care profession for your un-diagnosed condition ?????

I'm currently sifting thru the salvage list for the Outreach Irregulars pre-Solaris 7 mission. It's decent stuff to be sure. No Celestial's or prototype super-heavies but he did make out really well pulling off the ISF Director mini-campaign. He pulled a rebuilt [redacted]Mad Cat Mk. II[/redacted] and some crunchy troopers and their dedicated rides as rewards / compensation.
Now before peeps go nuts with this info -> He earned it by seriously curb-stomping the Blakies when he needed to the most.

I play what would be considered Level 3 play : Artillery, NBC Warfare, All the Infantry, Vehicular and Space rules. Mostly against my AU Clan, Iron Dolphin.
Currently I am in Late Jihad - Early DA ( 3095 ). Might be kind of hard to explain :
Since I'm currently restructuring the History of Azeroth with recently declassified documents. ( New tech, new idea and a new NPC help ( a few close friends ) to, you know, compete with against. )
The Society is here, the Word of Blake are here, there is a Clan, mine, there are other Clans as well. ( Jade Wolf among others, no Wolf or Falcon. ) I have Pyrates ( not a typo ), I also have a small Inner Sphere : Colony ( think Terra of Azeroth ), The Shino Empire ( CapCon - Kurita Alliance ), Marik ( Just Marik ), The Lyran Group and several dozen Independents.
Most of the weapons are either Primitive or early Prototype ( Age of War ). The thing is, ALL of the tech is backwards, so no Fusion, just ICE and Fission! That's right Fission. Only the WoB and Clans have Fusion engines and better tech.
And I have, IRL, close to three Companies of UnSeen... that I can place on the boards to fight.
Just imagine a Warhammer with Primitive weapons, Heavy Industrial Armor and a Fission engine. ( Standard -6R, Energy Weapons (https://www.sarna.net/wiki/Particle_Projector_Cannon#Variants), SRM Missiles (https://www.sarna.net/wiki/Short_Range_Missile) and a 16 ton Fission ( 3/5 MP ). For those that use LRM Missiles (https://www.sarna.net/wiki/Long_Range_Missile), their the same weight and just like the SRMs, three-quarters of Ammo per ton. Not to mention lots and lots of Primitive Rocket Launchers!

In Tt's defense -> He does have a very wicked mind for doing-up OpFor, The sick and twisted type of wicked. I will say that I'm glad? I don't have to see him across the battlefield on a real-time basis. I'd be propably brownpants-ing it after his forces show up.

Standard TM
A 4/6 Fusion = 16 tons
A 3/5 Fission = 16 tons
Most of my minis are 4/6 300 Vlar types... two Lances of Archer, a Lance Marauder and 6 lovely 'Hammers. Which usually means I get to either add Ammo or another heatsink or two. ( I roll a d8 to decide :8+ base weight ( L -3, M -2, H -1 and A -0 ) If I didn't roll the number ( 8 minus the weight class ), it got more ammo, if I was off by one, it got armor, otherwise it got sinks instead. ) The Hunchback got Ammo, and remember : Primitives run hotter than normal.

Technically he shouldn't be anywhere to be found in the picture / holovid / drug infused nightmare that has to do with this unit. Yet he seems to be able to insinuate himself into just about anything involving a unit of mine.

Officially, we're garrisoning IE's main research facility here, but you can see the beach from anywhere in the complex, and it's the freshest air we've inhaled in months. If it wasn't for the occasional earthquake and the Jade Falcons sitting only a jump away, it'd be perfect. So, why do I have a feeling of dread that something nasty is coming? Maybe it's because the first time I tangled with those green turkeys, they destroyed my entire unit; the second time cost me my wife and the kids' Mom. On the first of August 3068, while the 1st Outreach Irregulars were garrisoning the planet's main facility, Caine Genome Research Center, The mysterious Green Ghosts arrived on planet. Well-trained, well-equipped and strongly disciplined, the unit pressed the attack when they found the mercenaries and despite being heavily outnumbered, the Ghosts nearly broke their lines before being driven back. And just as things seemed could end well, a Clan Jade Falcon force appeared also ready to raid the planet. They started shooting both the Green Ghosts and the mercenaries. The Green Ghosts decided to leave in the ensuing chaos, so the Jade Falcons kept pressing, but they found Drake Callaghan wanting. After having taken out three Falcon Mechs, a Star Captain in an Executioner challenged him. After their Star Captain went down, the Falcons retreated, leaving the mercenaries holding the battlefield. IE lost about a third of their buildings, but their casualties should be light.

When the damned Jade Falcons showed up and started shooting at both sides, The Ghosts didn't like their chances, so they retreated, and we lost them in the ensuing chaos. Captain Callaghan's demeanor when the Falcons showed up was surprising so say the least. I knew he hated the Falcons, but I didn't realize how deep his hatred ran until he started using alpha strikes on the closest Clan target. After he destroyed his third falcon, a Star Captain Kacius Malthus in an Executioner challenged him. I have included the footage of the fight with this report, and I have never witness'ed such a brutal or one-sided trial between a Clanner and an Inner Sphere warrior. Chief Tetsuko-Ayres thinks he can salvage some of the Executioner's parts, but I am not taking any bets on that happening.

Well we've completed the "Final Curtain" mini-campaign and I got to punish Dk69 pretty sweetly >:D - with minimal Tt involvement - but I goofed on the one fact that some of the salvage he scrounged was seriously choice stuff... I didn't make sure that one specific unit was "truly destroyed"...
So our favorite unit C.O. will be sporting a relatively new ride... Don't hate on me too badly guys...

No sooner had we landed on Galatea than we were contacted by this Askai character - the guy who brought us into Giausar. Said he wants to make up for the trouble. He offered double our rates and all the salvage we could haul off. Sure, we were only passing through the League, but a side job can't hurt. Besides, this is more suited to us than fighting the damn Clans. How hard can it be to guard a peat farm?
Starting Forces: Outreach Irregulars; MAD-5B Marauder II, ON1-M Orion, ARC-4M Archer, GRF-6CS Griffin, WVR-7D Wolverine, BJ2-O Blackjack Omni, Militia Forces;-> WLF-2 Wolfhound, COM-6S Commando
Reed's Brew; NSR-9J Nightstar, CP-11-G Cyclops, MAD-9M Marauder, TDR-9S Thunderbolt, TBT-7M Trebuchet, WSP-1S Wasp
Outcome: Reed's Brew defeated and lost the following -> NSR-9J Nightstar, TDR-9S Thunderbolt, TBT-7M Trebuchet; All salvaged
Outreach Irregulars; Suffered some minor criticals (Actuators and damaged/destroyed weaponry) and lost armor.

That was easily the strangest contract we've ever had. Sure, we kept those Reed's Brew jokers from crossing the peat bogs, but I'll be a damned Capellan monkey if that was their target. They came in the same time other raiders hit the staging area for the land trains. Either they were a diversion or they were supposed to hit the city from the opposite side as the other pirates. Whatever their plan, we stopped them cold. They'd hardley gotten out of sensor range before these Coterie Dropships arrived. They claimed they were there to "inspect the damage" to the peat bogs, but no one believed that. Seems to me their real purpose was to give us our marching orders. That suited us just fine, since they paid up front first. Now we just have to make it to Outreach in time for whatever Mr. Askai's got planned for us next.
