Title: SRM/SSRM question
Post by: Gaiiten on 20 May 2023, 11:45:20
Hello,

besides the SRM/SSRM all missile types do have 4 sizes.
Only the SRM / SSR have only 3 sizes.
So I may ask you why we do not have SRM8 / SSRM 8?

Best regards

The people who could answer this question haven't been involved in BT tabletop in decades and frankly it's questionable if they would remember any longer even if they could be asked.  Apologies, but we can't help you.

Ok.

As follow-up question, would you expand the in-game technology by adding an SRM 8 + SSRM 8?

That question can't be answered at this time.

Probably not. It's already more effective use a cluster of small launchers (SRM 2s and LRM 5s) than the bigger launchers. You get more opportunities to hit, more tolerance for crits, and more ability to fine tune your attack in terms of heat and ammo use with numerous small launchers. Other than the drawback of heat and extra dice rolling there's not much reason to go bigger with cluster-attack missile weapons.
