According to AToW (p. 274), "Grenade launchers are capable of direct or indirect fire..."  If you have an automatic grenade launcher, which is capable of burst fire, can you use suppression fire with indirect fire?

With burst fire and suppression fire (whether direct or indirect), how do you handle misses? Do you roll a scatter for each grenade that you fired?

For that matter, how do you handle hits? If you fired a burst of 3 grenades, do you increase damage by 1 per point of MoS as per a normal burst attack? Do you instead apply damage for each grenade?

If you increase damage based on the MoS, according to AToW (p. 179), "Regardless of the attack roll result, the MoS for all attacks delivered by an area-effect (blast) weapon is considered 0 when assessing damage." That would imply that a burst of grenades does no extra damage.

Hello,

Re: Indirect + Suppression Fire -- No; Indirect and Suppression Fire are different attack types. They cannot be combined.

Re: Missed shots -- A missed attack always means a scatter with indirect fire. Resolve each grenade individually, and enjoy the show.

Re: Hit shots and MoS -- Each Grenade attack is resolved separately. Because the attack is Area-Effect, however, your MoS is always 0, per the damage resolution rules. Each grenade, however, is resolved individually. So, if you hit with a three-grenade burst, you resolve three successful grenade attacks with an MoS of 0.
