Hello,

As per page 71 of A Time of War (2010 Hardcopy), stage 3 life modules may be repeated if they are of a completely different type of school (eg, Civilian, Intelligence/Police, or Military).

On Page 72, the Intelligence Operative Training school has the Basic Training as its only Basic field option.

If a character were to take Intelligence Operative Training and then repeat stage 3 by matriculating to a Military option, all three choices include Basic Training or Basic Training (Naval) as the Basic field options (page 73).

Would it be fair to waive the repetition of the Basic Training field, skipping directly to an Advanced field selection?

If not, would the character be required to take Basic Training (Naval) or could the non-Naval version be repeated a second time?

Hello,

Technically, waiving the repeated Basic Field is not given as an option, but that is something you can discuss with your GM. If it is not waived, you could potentially repeat the exact same Basic Training field between Intelligence Operative and Military Academy, essentially "doubling up" on the skills as a result. This would still count as a repeat of Stage 3 and cost the indicated time and XPs listed.

Thank you,
