BLEH. Laptop crapped out

From how it looks,  it auto downloads them, and installs them, WITHOUT any input from the user.  AND It appears there's NO Setting in the system, to push it to "Check for updates, but let ME decide what to download and install" like there used to be...  So in effect, yea, it forces them.

you can disable the auto update and yes you can also  choose which update to install
but after 15 months it will download the update anyway unless you remove the update
if you cant find it try this

Did you manage to repair your PC? It sounds like your laptop is out of commission. It's hard to tell from here, but if you can't get it to work, you should consider looking into PC repairs. It might be a good idea if you're not comfortable doing it yourself or if you don't want to risk further damaging it. If you want to give it a shot, you could try and reset the computer to factory settings. This will erase all your data, but it might be worth a try to see if it can boot up. Keep in mind that if you do decide to do this, you'll need to reinstall all your programs and applications afterward.  If you do decide to go the repair route, make sure to research the technicians you're considering.

Nooe.  Just got a new one.  Though now at 8 months use, i am not sure i can keep calling it new.
