Dark Age Jade Falcon Delta Galaxy Star
« on: 03 March 2015, 08:03:19 »
Some of my recent efforts. The Thor & Loki are the plastics from the boxed set, I thought they scaled reasonably well with new "winged" designs. My plan is that these will one day be part of a full trinary - 2 mech stars and an elemental star.

Fantastic work. Your trinary is off to a good start. That's a very scary star.
Why not Zoidberg?

Very nice, and the best Falcon Galaxy in the whole darned game too! O0

One question - would you consider a very, very faint drubrush of a lighter green to pick up the edges & details on the base colour?

Hi,

The green base colour has actually been washed, pinwashed, and drybrushed with a lighter shade. These mechs have had a good dose of dullcote which tends to blend things a bit, and the lighting in the photograph is also probably a factor.

Here's another picture of the of the Jade Hawk and Gyrfalcon, if you have a look at the Jade Hawk I think you'll see the dry brushing better in this one.

Also, thank you for the kind comments everyone!

Sweet Mecha of Mecca!  That paint job is so basic, so simple, and yet so amazing!  I haven't seen clean, consistent color like that EVER in yellow, for some reason yellow is just one color that just refuses to play nice.  And the green is a perfect complimentary shade.  Why do those look so good?!!! Can't fault the yellow. And SC_Dave, yes, the latest photo brings out the highlighting - I like! O0

VEry nice indeed, and probably some of the best "yellowing" i've seen in a very long time. Very bright and not covered in brush marks. Well done.

Agreed. The yellow accents manage to be bold without looking tacky.
That's it! Challenge the Clans to rock-paper-scissors in 3050! A good portion of the 'Mechs didn't have hands so the Inner Sphere would win!
If I had a nickel for every time I've legged a Warhammer, I could put them in a sock, spin it around and leg another Warhammer.
