In theory, my wife and I will be moving into a new place December first, and getting stuff out of our storage the fourth - but she knows exactly where the tree and the decorations are, and she's already said we're visiting storage on the way down the mountain and pulling them out to put up first thing.
I can see why. This has been an... unpleasant... year for us in the housing situation. Putting up the tree would be a... marker, a statement that this is our home now.
Even if there won't be presents under it.
