Support Sloth
« on: 21 October 2019, 09:27:36 »
Update Oct. 27, 2020: See last entry for updated stats.

Sloth Support Battle Armor
Overview:
The Support Sloth was created by AFFS militia units when they received the Battle Armor Tube Artillery option. Techs stripped the Popup mine and a small lasers of the original Sloth, and installed a single BA Artillery Tube with three magazines of four rounds each. They were also able to increase the armor slightly. Not intended for front-line use, the Support Sloth retains the 32km/h ground speed of the original.

So... a BA with 3 Jump and BA Tube Artillery for ~2.6M a copy... not bad, not bad at all...

By no means am I an expert, but when I run the numbers its 60kg over.
Also, your datasheet doesn't list the remaining Small Laser.

@Daryk for BA the movement is listed walking/running/other, where the first two are always the same number, and the last could be jumpjets, UMU, or VTOL.

It's actually ~2.6M per squad.

That's exactly what I did the moment BA tube artillery became available, though I stripped both smalls from my version and replaced them with a light machine gun.  Because really what ELSE are they going to do with any surviving sloth suits?  Rip off their useless pop-up mines and use them as an organic artillery battery for foot infantry units.

Both small lasers are removed. I've updated the text to show that.

And it's possible I am 60kg over; MegaMekLab is kind of weird to me and I may not be using it correctly. You can drop some ammo or an armor point to get it back under weight.

If I've got the weights correct...

Chassis 300
Movement 80
Armor 300
BATA 400
Ammo 180

1260 total

If it's supposed to be prototype armor it's 60 kg over, thought. Plus I don't think the slots will fit?

I'm on MegaMek 45.3, and I get pretty much the same as Sabelkatten if both SL are now gone - bar the BATA weighing an extra 100kg; errata somewhere?

So you've got another 140-240kg to play with, and 2 more crits without any turret shenanigans, or consolidating your ammo (which seems to go up to 8 shots in one crit).

Presuming only 140kg, you could;
-Bump armour to 8 and be able to tank a LL, add 2 extra rounds ammo, and take 2 APWM for token AI and maybe smoke grenades
-Increase speed and ammo each by a third (+1/+4)
-Add 4 ammo, an LMG and APWM
-Add 6 ammo and a Firedrake

MegaMekLab says I can only put 4 shots in a slot so that's what I did. At work now so I'll have to wait until later to see what's going on.
