Inspired by nerd's Neptune upgrade I decided to play around with it, too. While browsing Sarna, I stumbled upon the
Sub Mech Infantry and wanted to try turning the Neptune into a carrier vessel into a support unit for submersible infantry units. Turns out, switching the engine for an FCE and deleting the laser frees up plenty of space. Enough to carry a platoon of mech infantry or up to 20 suits of BattleArmor, if you happen to have some Sea Foxes or Undine lying around. I messed around with the torpedoes a bit, while I was at it, giving it some more long range tubes and splitting the short range firepower between front and back.
Knowing me, I'll probably mess around with it a bit more later, but I felt like sharing this first try. Comments, critics and the like very welcome, as always.
