(Answered) Smoke Question
« on: 03 August 2011, 10:31:01 »
Having got my 1st use of Smoke under the new rules I had a question.

Why is Artillery Smoke, (15-20-25 point damage), restricted to a single 7 hex bubble in size & 3 turns in duration?

v/s Missile launchers that range from 1 Light to 7 Heavy in hexes and 2 turns to 10 turns in duration.

The size I can see, only Long Tom's are getting gimped on since in theory they should create a 3 hex radius (5 diameter) smoke bubble.

But the duration to me seems way off.

It would be more balanced, IMHO, if ALL smoke was limited to 3 turns in duration like Artillery is.

So I guess my question is why the difference between Arti & Missiles ?  (And for that matter Mortars?)

Mod Note: smoke missile duration was altered to 3 turns in the latest errata.
