« on: 05 November 2011, 18:52:30 »
The 2nd and 4th Taurian Lancers are destroyed during the Jihad...but does the TC rebuild them after the Jihad in 3085?
also what is the colors for the 4th?

The best thing you could do is to wait for Field Manual: 3085. It should be out before the end of year.

I don't know about canon description of camo for 4th. All three regiments use red trim, so it seems as safe bet the 4th would use red trim too. But for the base coat - we don't know. Green, blue, gray - what will be next? Brown is popular for camo in TC.

Though in light of what happened in operation MATADOR, I wouldn't hold out much hope for any TC units. The TDF has been pretty much reduced to rubble by the end of the Jihad, and rebuilding's going to take a long time

Pretty much; the AFFS steamrolled over the TDF, reclaiming a good chunk of the worlds lost to the Taurians and then a number of Taurian border worlds. The Red Chassuers and Concordat Jaegers were completely destroyed, while the surviving units of the TDF are at 50% strength or less.

For the moment, they're going to be focusing on getting what's left up to strength. I wouldn't wait for any units to be reconstituted any time soon.

Me? I think Yvonne is awesome now.

The Taurians had to have an inkling of what would happen once the gloves were off. I mean, just two merc units during most of the Jihad could keep them at bay and bring the war to many of their core systems.

Elements of the Red Chassuers and Concordat Jaegers were completely destroyed.

Fix it,

While you undoubtedly have more ready access to the underlying information, it should be pointed out that J:FR claims the Red Chasseurs were 'killed to a man'.  The Jaegers were merely 'annihilated', which leaves more room for interpretation, but the Chasseurs are at least apparently doornail-dead circa 3080.  Are you saying this is an area where in-universe perspective may result in flawed statements?

The Red Chasseurs current roaster may have bean killed to a man, but Secondments and Convalescents may have survived, throw in some Transfers and recreant Mustered Out returning to the unit may give them a core to rebuild the unit around.

An author was unclear in his article.

If you look at Field Report: Periphery, you will see that both the Concordat Jaegers and Red Chasseurs were deployed on multiple worlds. They still had those deployments when Operation Matador hit them like a steamroller. So the battalion of Red Chausseurs on Althea's Choice got wiped out, same with the two battalions of Jaegers on Flintoft.
